Posted on 01/26/2014 8:18:53 PM PST by Howie66
Okay, who gives a Rats Arse about the 2014 Stupor Bowl? I sure don't.
Okay, I’ll bite. I’m a simple girl and I like Payton.
Anyone who bets on football games.
The Super Bowl has been hijacked by Bill O’Reilly and Barry Soetoro again this year. Barry still thinks that people shive a git about anything he has to say. He’s a liar. He doesn’t have anything to say that I want to hear. Period! (Unless he says he’s resigning immediately and turning the country and government back over to the American people.)
I’m with you. Can’t stand either team.
Should I post a thread about how I don’t care about curling?
A reaction to a tidal wave of publicity that is impossible to escape.
I will not be watching the hype of the shows leading up to the game, but I do really enjoy watching good football, and these two teams both play a great game. So I will be watching just out of love of the game, not because I care who wins.
So what will you be doing with the 3 hours that’s so much more exciting?
Have not watched one game this year “end to end”. Heard some on radio. caught a quarter here and there on the ‘net.
What I did see this year in decent resolution was, well; a waste of time. I’ll pay attention in the future when the real cream of the crop rise to the top. Until then, the majority of those thugs on the field will not waste my time anymore.
I suspect it will be more palatable than Obama’s SOTU speech or the Homo-Grammies. But no, I have zero interest in the Super Bowl. And even less than that in terms of the tiresome news items about the Super Bowl “commercials” that always immerse the airwaves the following day.
It’s all become such a doggedly banal routine. I get more and more sick of it with each passing year.
>>Ill pay attention in the future when the real cream of the crop rise to the top. <<
Like Baltimore and Philly?
Good day to find your favorite place for activity less crowded.
Go snow, ice, and wind!
You can always watch The Kitten Bowl.
Just look at it as an excuse to hear Bill O’Reilly interview Dear Leader while you eat pork rinds.
I’m a USC and Occidental College fan, so my season ended last month with the Trojans’ victory over Cal State Fresno. I used to be a Los Angeles Rams fan—which was kind of like being a Boston Red Sox fan between World War I and the Iraq War—but I no longer follow the No Fun League.
I liked watching football with my husband. He would know which play was going to be called next. I don’t know how he did that, but it was fun being with him. I always made finger foods and we had a good time. I don’t watch games by myself now. Wives, enjoy your husband during football games while you have him.
Is the Bud Bowl still around?
I just watch the Bong Bowl for the commercials!
Not gonna watch.
It’s the perfect match up...quarterback vs. cornerback.
Peyton Manning vs. Richard Sherman
Class vs. Ass.
I would like to know who were the genius’ that decided to have a super bowl in New Jersey in the dead of winter. Idiots
When do pitchers and catchers report?
I think it’s actually a good thing, I’d watch just to see them play in the snow.
LOL! I didn’t even really think about the question until now.
Bud Bowl! LOL!
But I also have Champions League, FA Cup (Go Everton!), and the Premier League to keep me occupied for the next few months.
Good luck to your teams !
I give half a rip. I don’t plan on actually watching the Super Bore, but I am kind of rooting for Manning and the Broncos. Might catch the last quarter.
Yep, as much as I didn’t like him when he was at UT, I’d like to see Peyton go out on top.
But I must say, I am also very impressed with Russell Wilson, seems like a real classy guy as well.
I watched the first 3 or 4 but haven’t watched one since.
After seeing Bart Starr call and play a near perfect game, there is not much more to see.
They don’t even call the plays on the field anymore.
I pay no attention to these things.
What a brilliant thread! Thanks for posting...
I like the NFL, so I care. I think I’ll root for Peyton Manning to win his second ring. I have no problem with the Seahawks winning, though. The Super Bowl is a little more fun when there is either a team I really want to win or a team I really hate and want to lose. I don’t have that this year, but I like Peyton Manning. I’ll root for him. The Super Bowl is a bit bittersweet I’ve never seen my team in it or even win a playoff game.
I care. Go Broncos. This year....
Stupor Bowl—you got that right.
“Im a simple girl and I like Payton.”
Me too, hubby too, I think.
Hubby was kind of rooting for SF, but all our own teams (we have 4 different ones between us, the kid, and the kid’s honey) lost (my ravens held out the longest!) so we’re kind of coasting through the end of the season. Just gosh darn grateful to Denver for knocking out the Pats!
Don’t forget the other bowls;
But I'll get to enjoy it later on DVR
“Should I post a thread about how I dont care about curling?”
Not until you go over to Ace of Spades and see the dreadful Olympic costumes of one of the Scando teams, I think they are shown with curling apparatus, but I couldn’t look at it long enough to be sure.
What is the opposite of apathy? Terror!
Yep. "Articulate and clean", as Joey Biden would say.
Last Bud Bowl was in 1997.
but Rene Fleming will sing the national anthem...I'd like to listen to that...
“I dont watch games by myself now.”
Oh Marcella, that sounds sad! We are in NJ, come over here and watch with us!
Next year tune in to the Fox pregame show, there are all great guys on it, very handsome and charming - I love watching them.
I remember watching football with my dad, that was the best.
College football back in the day, when they’d actually show the halftime bands and stuff, I really loved it.
