WASHINGTON, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Twenty-six percent of U.S. respondents do not realize Earth revolves around the sun, a survey by the National Science Foundation indicated.

The NSF conducts the poll on some basic science facts every two years, The Atlantic reported. The foundation said there has been little change in the percentages of correct answers since 1992.

Of course it doesn’t. The Earth is flat supported on four elephants riding on a turtle. Some people just don’t understand science.

Wait. I’ve gotten that wrong. It’s four turtles riding on one elephant. Glad I checked that out with Wikipedia.

The earth does not revolve around the sun. It revolves
around it’s axis.

The earth ORBITS the sun.

What’s the percentage of people who don’t realize we live in a fascist dictatorship?

If you ask those in San Francisco they could not tell you much about the sun, but they are very knowledgeable about the seventh planet, as a matter of fact you could say they are totally focused on it.

“... And all 26% voted for O’bummer”

Actually, 120% of them voted several times in each presidential election.

Somewhere a supposed-adult probably said “And I was like omigod, if we like revolved around the sun, then like wouldn't we be like literally falling on top of each other? No? Amazing.”

1992 shows the result of the War on Poverty for close to 3 decades.

The earth rotates around its axis....or so it did when I learned about the solar system in second grade 60 years ago.

Technically they both orbit around a common center of mass.

So they are still stupid, but not as stupid.

Is this a poll of normal Americans or did they just poll the scientists who claim Global Warming is “settled science”

I would like to see the cross tabs on this. It's about guaranteed a fair percentage of this "26 percent" think it's a trick question, or are afraid more of giving the wrong answer.

Nevertheless, wouldn't you like to know what percentage of, so-called, "science teachers" in our public schools know the common center of gravity of this star system lies deep within the Sun?

How many of the latter know Earth is closer to the Sun in January than in June?

Damnation on our schools for teaching kids that weather originates from their parents "burning coal" to run their hair dryers.
