I am done. This site has broken me. I am as staunch a conservative as you will find. After returning from Iraq, injured and upset, I turned here and found a welcoming community that shared my thoughts. I am a proud Gadsden Flag waiving man of the Tea Party movement. But because I don't think Sarah Palin is as historically important as other GOP women in the past, I am now considered an idiot, a RINO, ass-kisser and whatever negative connotation you can throw my way. This site has changed so much since that dictator want to be became President it sickens me. It's lost its sense of community and has ran off many a good person. Heck even the Tea Party seems to be distorted here.

Thank you so much for your service. We all have times where we feel isolated and misunderstood. Making political commentary on even a conservative website takes a thick skin. It seems many times that there are those who would rather play “gotchya” than have an honest discourse. Usually pointing this out helps.
Regarding Ms. Palin. She is a smart and shrewd conservative lady. I say this as someone who lived in the state of Alaska for 4 years and has an understanding of how difficult the politics can be there despite its distance from “the lower 48” If you have an open mind about her I would recommend reading “Going Rogue” It will give you a better understanding of her political talent. Whether or not she has a significant future on America’s political stage remains to be seen but she is still influential even if she never lives in the White House or secures a cabinet post.

While others would just calmly ask for a different fork. Yet, we all keep coming back to the same restaurant. Please rethink your position. I don’t have many ties to those who have served in these “new” wars, like since what Poppy Bush started with Saddam. I want to know how you guys see us and yourselves as time passes.

I am a full bore SP supporter (check my posting history if you wish), but speaking for myself , your consideration of her from a historical perspective is one that true conservatives can accept as within the pale of honest conservative opinion. I’d like to think that SP herself would be the first to say that the cause is bigger. It was President Reagan who said that we can get a lot done if we don’t care who gets the credit.
