Saw them in person in the early 70’s, great show but not my favorite band of that era. The Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Creedence Clearwater, Canned Heat, all were better live than LZ.

LZ made a second album? They made a great opening act for Spirit.

I was meaning more on how they do now as old rockers. the stones I saw last was a superbowl show Jagger’s still got the energy and Richards was still standing somehow. the remains of the who at another s.b. stunk. Plant and Page and Jones amazed me in this.

First album I ever bought was the Stones. It was the one with “Satisfaction” and “The Last Time” on it.

I thought disco led to punk.

I saw LZ in '76 and loved em.

Although Plant's voice is a little worse for wear they sound better here.

Quick impressions from randomly going through it.

The band is tight, even though they try to re-create the freeflowing jam of the 70’s that they did back then. Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Sabbath did the same. It was what they were all known for

All members are playing to support each other instead of going off on tedious crap to show how wonderful they are.

While I generally dislike Robert Plant as one of the more pretentious vocalists of that era, he did seem in control and working to make it a band thing instead of a Robert thing with the band supporting him.

Jimmy Page is and always was a Great. He shows it here.

One note of interest. Look at early pics of him, Blackmore and Iommi. They all had very similar faces/hairstyles and body types way back then. Probably the three greatest Rock guitarists of the era were damn near triplets.

Once again. Random thoughts. Definitely worth going through again for a listen. Much better than “The Song Remains the Same.”

Led Zeppelin ROCKS, always has, always will. They are in the Pantheon of henkster’s all time great bands with The Who, The Stones, the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Yes.

I like that list plus a few others but yours is an excellent short list.

Also per you tube comments there was a year dispute, I have no idea 07 or 2012.

They are both right. 2007 London reunion concert released on DVD in 2012.

But aren’t Led Zeppelin evil? I mean, that album with the creepy roach motel everywhere . . . ::shudders::.

Wow, I don’t even know how to respond to that. You must be really young.

yeah “most”

when you use a superlative to describe any class or group pejoritively, you have laid down the classic RED HERRING.

A sardonic retort.

They sounded quite a bit better when I saw them in 1997. This performance actually saddens me a little because to me they are clearly off their game and it's clearly an age thing. Even so, they still sound good, the underlying music is still great, and it's a blast to see them do their thing.

They are all getting old, like me and I doubt I would pay to see any of them live. Rather have the memories of prime time. Even BB King plays sitting down nowadays, he's in his 80's.
Another band that should have stayed retired: CCNY.
Loudest band I think was Blue Cheer, early 70's - 48 Marshall amps stacked behind them, we were up front.
