Dalai Lama says ‘okay’ to gay marriage
Belfast Telegraph ^ | 07 March 2014 | Antonia Malloy

The Dalai Lama has voiced his support for gay marriage and condemned homophobia, saying that sex is fine as long as it is consensual.

Speaking during an interview with American talk show host Larry King, the Buddhist monk said that gay marriage was “okay” and a “personal matter”.

He said: "If two people, a couple, really feel that way, it’s more practical, more satisfaction, and both sides fully agree, then okay!” …

He is not a guy who holds up well when one starts looking at him closely.

The Dali lama is just another political figure whose personal integrity doesn’t hold up under close scrutiny, the fact that he and the left portray him as some sort of supernatural religious figure, pushes him into the category of evil exploiter and user, into the anti-God column.

Dalai probably makes it with the Lama, so what does he know anyway?

I’d rather hear what comes out of the right half of the pic than the left.

Although what comes out of the left is what is pictured on the right. Liberal POS that she is.

The Dalai Lama is a coward. Some years ago, he expressed the traditional Buddhist critique of homosexuality and - to his surprise - was slammed by his Western devotees, many of whom are gay. But he knows who butters his bread, and now - guess what? - he is pro-gay. He is not a wise man or a holy man, but a very shrewd pragmatist.

25 years practicing Tibetan Buddhism.

I never had any respect for this guy, and my opinion is based on actual knowledge of him and his. He’s been corrupted and co-opted by the Left, falling easy prey to the lure of celebrity idolization.

His teachers and the overall tradition certainly never supported homosexuality. The scriptures are quite clear about this.

Something that I can probably find is an old description by an assistant of Mahatma Gandhi in the 1950s where he describes how Gandhi kept the most expensive “humble” menu possible.

The assistant described spending a fortune on many hours in taxis, on many days during the US visit, so that he could search NYC to find the pure and natural (and rare and expensive at the time) ingredients for Gandhi’s “humble” meals that he insisted on, to maintain his Gandhi simpleness.

I have the same admiration for ol’ Moe Gandhi as I do for Mikey Luther King aka Junior.

Wow, that is a powerful statement.

Do you have a summary on the status and future of Tibet or can you link us to a thread or articles on it that you think are informative?
