I’d rather watch (or compete in) the latter than the former. :-P

Notice I said when I was much younger I was very thin. Now I’m older and not as active as I should be, and eat more than I should. I think I’m horribly fat, but other people see me as still thin. I guess it’s metabolism plus the fact that I can’t eat sweets and carbs all the time.

Only in America do we have professional gluttons.

Leave her alone. No one is forcing her to do this, the feds are not paying her to do this, and she is carrying her own weight! Freedom necessarily includes the choice to do wrong or stupid, just look at the second chapter of Genesis.. It may not be the smartest thing you can do, but at least she has the freedom to do it—for now. She doesn't own a sports franchise does she?

We all agree that she’s free to do it. Just as we are free to opine that it’s repugnant.

Not to be crass, but can you imagine the size of the stink pickle she must let loose a few hours later? Damn, she probably needs a shoe-horn to get it started...

This is seen as noteworthy by The Blaze.
Apparently the important things they proclaim as valuable are not as valuable to them as a cheap and stupid accomplishment. If you could call it that. Accomplishment, that is.

I’m afraid somebody is going to die doing one of these stunts. I know a woman died in a water drinking contest that didn’t allow a bathroom break for an extended period. I think Adam Richman (Man Versus Food) has stopped doing the eating challenges. He had an easy one recently (at least it aired recently), putting away a 48-ounce Porterhouse at Shula’s restaurant.

Competitive eating is as sinful as competitive whoring.

It does have a saving grace. It's politically incorrect.

And, yep, the Regime is opposed.

I’m afraid somebody is going to die doing one of these stunts.

The late Blair River comes to mind. 6ft 8in, 575 pounds. Former gentle giant spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill, died at 29 from pneumonia after a bout of flu.

"Cynical people might think this (River's death) is funny," the restaurant's founder Jon  Basso told the Arizona Republic. "But people who knew him are crying their eyes out. There is a lot of mourning going on around here. You couldn't have found a better person."
