Enough of the Maryland bashing please. Arnold, Maryland where I live in is more Apple pie then the majority of red states. We also have a Republican House district and Annapolis itself has a Republican Mayor. So enough of the Maryland bashing please!

I love Maryland and have been all over. Mrs. 40 has family in Leonardtown, Easton, Belair, Essex, Fredrick and Libertytown. We have visited them all several times. It's a beautiful state.

And her family is more conservative than mine.

I’ve decided that people are pretty much the same everywhere. Obviously cities lean liberal but there are conservatives there too.

Population statistics don't apply to individuals. Statistics about communities don't apply to individual communities. On average, Maryland is a commie state. Sorry, but it's the truth.

And, by the way, highly educated, upper class individuals are more -- not less -- likely to be libtards. I am a highly educated, upper-class individual, but not a libtard. See how it works?

Do they have a decent clam shack?

No coastal community is complete unless they have at least one decent clam shack.

Of course, every state has some nicer areas, some more conservative or family oriented areas than others.

Overall, Maryland is a reliably blue Democrat state in presidential elections. And they have some liberal policies in place.

We could make long lists of such places. Liberal California has many nice areas, and conservative leaning areas. The red state of Texas has liberal enclaves such as Austin. Upstate New York has a number of more conservative areas, but the state is reliably Democrat in presidential elections , largely due to New York City being so liberal.

You have downstate Illinois vs. the Chicago area.

Kansas City and St. Louis vs. rural and small town Missouri.

Etc.

Great - you live in a nice town/neighborhood and most of your neighbors are just like you, even to the point you managed to elect a Republican to represent you. In the meantime, the rest of the residents of MD elected Demos to the overflowing point where your rep’s input is not heard and he can’t get legislation into a committee, let alone on the floor. Add in that you can’t strap on a defensive sidearm legally and you just have an absolute Utopia...riiiight! You are welcome to it if it suits you, guess those soft shell crabs have a stronger pull than I thought.

Left Maryland because of high taxes. Noticed you didn't mention Maryland Income Taxes or Property Taxes.

Sales tax went from 5% to 6% in 2007.

Maryland legalized Gay Marriage in 2013.

O'Mally wants to Decriminalize Pot

The Obamacare signups and exchanges are so bad, they are being investigated.

The Feds are looking at Baltimore to house the illegal immigrant children taken from the borders. Do you think the Maryland legislature or Governor will do anything to prevent it? Uh, think Undocumented Democrats.

The School system said our son would never be able to pass college. (They were wrong).

If you had told Marylanders 40 years ago this would be the way it would be, they would have laughed at you.

The Democratic party has taken Maryland left, far far left.

,,,,, Maryland where we tax the rain . Now how left is that ??? They refer to our general assembly as the general asylum . Where 47% would move out if they could . Where Smart Meters will dictate their comfort zone on the homeowner . Where we are currently 48 billion bucks in debt . The home of 40 new taxes imposed under the 0’malley regime . Where 3 of the 23 counties loaded with minorities determine every general election . Over 6000 businesses have packed up and left , many of which were fortune 500 companies . Over $175,000,000.00 was spent on a Healthcare plan and then simply tossed out as useless . I could go on but I’m beginning to get pissed just typing this great news .

If you are thinking of moving here from another state ,,, FORGER IT , if you are a conservative of Libertarian you will die a slow and painful death buried in taxes that other states have never heard of or dreamed of . It’s a beautiful state to drive thru .

As a 5th generation Eastern Shoreman (in NM), I can attest that Maryland is mostly sanity surrounding the government whore core of PG, Monkey, and Howard Counties... although with the commuter culture, Frederick may be contaminated beyond redemption.

Shame, it was a great place to grow up in the 60’s and 70’s.

I won’t step foot in facist states like MD, NJ and NY. If I can not exercise my 2a rights I won’t go there. With that said, I sure the Arnold is a great place, just like there are great places in NY and maybe NJ. The problem is that the rest of the state is a mess.

I’m very much a fan of Maryland if you discount those towns and cities that border Washington. How I have missed Arnold puzzles me. Delmarva is like home to me and I have fished and sailed all over the Bay, Goose hunted all over the eastern shore and crabbed wherever the blue crab can be found. Now, where is Arnold?

Does this really sound like a commie state of Maryland????????? NO!!!!!

Which way did Maryland go on the presidential election?
that will give the answer.

I believe Maryland voted for the Marxist, communist or what ever he is and who ever he is and from where ever he is from, so I can not say Maryland is communist but what ever he is they voted for it.
