The Danger That There Will Be No “Big Event”
SHTF Plan ^ | 5/28/15 | Paylie Roberts

Posted on 05/30/2015 7:21:24 AM PDT by Kartographer

How many times do you hear preppers and liberty-minded folks make statements along the line of “When the schumer hits the fan, I will take such action,” or “After some event I will make that change,” or “If it gets to that point, then I’ll take a stand!”? These ideas are based on the premise that there will be “the big event.” The assumption among many preppers and liberty activists is that there will be a clear cut “before” and “after,” with a defining moment, event, or series of events, delineating between the two. Such events could include economic collapse, natural disaster, a pandemic, an EMP or CME, a “terrorist” attack, or martial law. I myself have at times fallen into this very trap.

However, what if this assumption, this premise, is in fact incorrect? What if the creeping trends of tyranny, economic impoverishment, and oppression just continue on, gradually, indefinitely, without an obvious “big event?” After all, the elitist Powers That Be are masters at gradualism, ever so careful not to wake the frog before the pot is boiling.

Most fell back into a trance about a week after 911 and haven’t woken up since.

Not just “the next few summers to be explosive in black areas” but the next few generations.

Frog soup? None for me, thanks. I'm up to my neck in the stuff as it is.

We've been well prepared for the "Big Event" should it ever come or, more likely, when it comes. And I don't mean in a "prepper" way.

I see how well prepared we've become since the airports were locked down by the TSA and we all meekly, for the most part, put up with it, accepted it and went on with our business.

Add to that the unprecedented surveillance and recording of all communications and the use of the IRS to take down opponents.

Then consider that what little outcry occurs about either is only politically one-sided or silenced in the former mainstream now one-stream media.

The event (I'm tempted to call it an exercise) currently underway in Baltimore, like the ones before it, does seem designed to condition us to open the door to obama's national police force.

Not unlike the straw that broke the camel's back, the "Big Event" will come because the foundational things have been eroded enough for a dramatic change to be inevitable.

And then, of course, a quick response "solution" mandatory.

"They" are clearly preparing for it, at least that's one way to put it. Never let a crisis go to waste.

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life.
If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."
~ Joseph Stalin
You might call it a long term project.

Absolutely. But for many people the final judgment is not on their agenda. They have not planned on attending that event.

So do not be deceived. Keep your main focus on Israel. This isn’t about us, it’s about them in the final week. I believe we as Christian’s play a part in God’s plan. So pray for the peace of Jerusalem and our redemption. And prepare for his return. In the meantime, it wouldn’t hurt to keep the other eye on Obama’s Washington and watch as the plan unfolds.

As I sit here in Agony Acres (in North Texas) and watch the water rise with each daily downpour, I am assured God will not destroy the world by flood again. Even so, I am prepared to pray and move to higher ground if he directs me.

Disclaimer: As a Christian, it is not my intention to proselytize anyone but I believe only a sovereign God can sort this mess out, and will in his own time. Your mileage may vary but I would recommend putting the item on your agenda just in case.

The key element that distinguished the Fabians from the Marxists was that the Fabians insisted on gradualism. The history of the last century and a half has shown that they were right. Where the Marxist violent revolutionaries all have flamed out the Fabians just keep rolling up victories. They have been halted here or there occasionally but never rolled back.

Ironic, your post, given the recent exchange I had with a fellow FReeper recently.

Where is your “line in the sand?”

is analogous to

Just what IS enough for you to take a stand on conviction?

My wife mocks me for my rigidity and forceful opinion, but she is the type to miss all the little signals and wake up one day to suddenly proclaim, "WTF?" when my response is, "What have I been telling you?"...

Far too many Conservatives are lax in exercising their convictions. If that statement were wrong, we wouldn't be faced with the reality of a 3rd progressive POTUS (I have grave doubts Conservatives are going to gain anything in '16).

Given the author's background, this article is a wake-up call in more ways than one. But for me and, thankfully, many here, it's:

"Yep...just like we've been saying all along. Couldn't have written it better myself.".

Sooner or later the independent truck drivers will not be able to work. They are being taxed and regulated out of business. The middle class is being squeezed out of existence. Retailers are struggling with obamadontcare. There is a critical point coming when the economy will crash. People will starve.

Sadly, you are right.

Had the Japs not attacked Pearl Harbor, the USA would have slept along and although eventually being forced in by some other event, which would by then have made the 1945 wins next to impossible or dragged out much longer.

The USA, maybe being immigrants from all parts, have a flaw of incorrectly viewing those that ‘might’ be the enemy, as not really wanting us harm directly. Live and let live.

Truman, Kennedy and Bush1 pushed us into wars as a precaution, which did not have a ‘flash point’ directly against the USA. Look how Korea, Viet Nam and Iraq turned out, not so well with our “live and let live” culture.

Human nature tends to not see incrementalism for what it really is. Incrementalism is an underhanded manipulation and any group that uses that tactic is inherently evil and treasonous.

Wrong, All the popguns in the world are NOT meaningless and they are the only reason the progressives have not dashed the Constitution and our Liberty.

There is coming soon a 'big event', one which will for a time throw the US into chaos of unimaginable proportions.

The Rapture of tens of millions of Christians will be a mess to cleanup amongst those left behind to hear the great lie explaining where these folks went/what happened to these disappeared folks.

Could there be something catastrophic before the Rapture? Could be, satan doesn't want humankind to see the reality of the Rapture when it happens. But the rapture of so many believers will throw the infrastructure into such turmoil that a large number will be starving and cannibalizing and lawlessness will reign for a season.

I'm not going to be here following the Rapture, so my preps are for some catastrophe which might arrive before the Rapture.

Yes, some time ago. The more interesting thing is how much of the Republican Party has been compromised.

Former Speaker Hastert definitely. Chief Justice Roberts probably. More elite republican insiders than I can count - if not, then why are they not stopping Obama.

I certainly hope our truck drivers persevere and prosper. They are a rolling army that the middle class can count on.

Guazetto di Rane (Frog Leg Soup)

Ingredients

2 tablespoons plus 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2 pounds frog legs, skinned and rinsed in several changes of cold water
Salt and pepper
1 onion, coarsely chopped
1 carrot, coarsely chopped
1 rib celery, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup 00-grade flour
1 cup dry white wine
1 cup canned tomatoes, crushed by hand

Directions

Pat the frog legs dry and season them aggressively with salt and pepper. In a Dutch oven, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over high heat until smoking. Add the frog legs and sear until dark golden brown on all sides. Remove the frog legs to a plate lined with paper towels and set aside.

In the same pan, place the onion, carrot and celery and cook over high heat until the vegetables are browned and soft. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and cook, stirring for another 2 minutes. Add the white wine and stir with a wooden spoon to dislodge the browned bits at the bottom of the pan. Add the tomatoes and remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, bring to a boil, season with salt and pepper and return the frog legs to the pan. Reduce to a simmer, cook for another 10 minutes, then remove from heat. Divide evenly among 4 warmed pasta bowls and serve immediately.

Sounds pleasant to me. What could go wrong?

Better to go with a “bang than a whimper”? A catastrophic event is better than slouching through a thousand stumbles and missteps?

Oh yes, there is going to be a big event all right, Judgement Day.

The White Throne of Judgement will be preceded by the Rapture, the Bema Seat of Christ, the 2nd Coming and the Millennial Kingdom.
