Curt Schilling took on the Internet and the entire Muslim world on Tuesday and lost.
Badly.
The two-time National League strikeout king took to Twitter to voice his concern over Islamic extremism.
He posted a photo of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler with the words, It's said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?
The 48-year-old also tweeted, The math is staggering when you get to true (numbers).
Schilling, who won three World Series championships during his 20-year MLB career, deleted the post after 10 minutes.
Currently working with ESPN as a colour analyst, Schilling spent the rest of the afternoon doing damage control.
Gotta own the times you go off the rails, Schilling responded to one person on Twitter.
In a plethora of accompanying tweets, Schilling apologized, adding my mistake and that one is on me.
Schilling accumulated a 216-146 record during his time with the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox before retiring in 2007. Despite appearing on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot for the fourth time this year, Schilling failed to received more than 40% of votes.
So what exactly are the liberals outraged about? What did he say that wasn’t true?
Schilling was a bit soft on islam.
islam, by its’ own definition, is extreme & radical as it “worships” its’ messiah, satan.
When does the hypocritical outrage start over this man telling the truth?
What? Did he lose his head?
Hitler & the mufti were good buddies.
Many do not like the truth.
Who decided that he lost? Liberals? Are liberals the only ones allowed to set the criteria by which these twitter statements shall be judged????
Exactly.
So how is Curt Schilling different from 80 percent of the non-Muslim world?
People must have been attacking Schilling for being weak on Islam. There’s a big diffence between Nazi Germany and Islam today - there is a billion Muslims in the world.
The DH rule doesn't look so bad now, eh? ;')
Non lefties are not allowed to have any opinions.
Telling the truth these days is a revolutionary act.
Sounds dead on to me.
Needs to be corrected to “who did work for ESPN until 8/25/2015 and who will not be in the HoF”.
And which party is Muslim Central in the United States?
Good for Curt Shilling for not kissing the bootheels of the accursed lieberals!!!
That's kind of what I was thinking too. He might be toast.
It is not nice to tell the truth these days. /s
The truth is seen as hate speech to those who hate the truth.
