More than two decades since it was first introduced, legislation that would establish an American women’s history museum on the National Mall has gained 227 cosponsors, which is enough support to pass in the House of Representatives.
Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) and Ed Royce (R-Calif.), lead sponsors for the Smithsonian Women's History Museum Act, celebrated the milestone last week with Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), who co-sponsored the original bill introduced in 1995. The U.S. does not currently have a national museum dedicated solely to contributions from women.

Why? I’m a woman and see no reason to have an extra special museum just for women. Same as the Black History one for obamy. Total waste of money.
Where is the white man’s history museum?
The only benefit I see is that the director, vice-director, and next twenty curator-managers....will all be women. I’m not sure about the black, Indian, and aviation Smithsonian museums....but I’d take a guess that they are 80-percent male-run.
Let’s just keep deliberately sharpening the divides in America. What could go possibly wrong?

So many questions:
Will drinking fountains be segregated by gender or will we share? If segregated, who defines “gender”?
Who gets to use which restrooms?
Will pajama-boy’s exhibit be at the entrance or hidden in some room nobody visits?
Why isn’t Condoleezza Rice there? (we can’t ask yet, but I’d bet there will be a lot of head-scratchers on who is/isn’t included)

Took the words right out of my mouth.
Many women have made history, and their historic achievements are just part of the “regular” history, if I can use that term.
If any woman, or anyone of a special grievance group has achieved some historic milestone, that achievement is just part of the overall history of our country.
So carried to its logical conclusions, you would need a museum for white men too. But since white men are not a recognized grievance group under the standards of political correctness, there will never be a white man’s museum. But if we are to be intellectually honest about all of this, you can’t just have overall history or an overall history museum, you would need museums broken down by every conceivable sub group of people.
There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that an LGBTXYZ museum will be right around the corner.
I was once a sponsor and member of the Smithsonian.
I gave up giving them money because they have completely gone to the left.

I’m with you on that bgill. I’m also sick and tired of special treatment of ANY race, sex, sexual preferences as well as someone who wakes up on any given morning and deciding what they will be that day......man or woman.
ONLY if they remove all references to “women” in every other museum.
Not another one. Will there be a National M*slim Accomplishments Museum? (nothing to put in it.) A National Transgender Museum? (the first dick chopped off someone so he could call himself a woman)
