“because officials believe President Trump is too “bereft of reason” for negotiations”
Couple of thoughts. What is there to negotiate? When has North Korea negotiated in good faith?

IMO, our next move is to take down any launches from NK while in the early boost phase.

We have assets in place to do this... missiles are extremely vulnerable in early boost...they are slow moving, thin skinned objects full of volatile chemical propellants and they are in the clear. Perfect targets.

They tell us what they are going to do? How bizarre is that?

I am bothered by the premptive blame thrown at Trump by Dems, NeverTrumpers, and the North Koreans as if it is his fault if hostilities resume. Guess all are unhappy that Trump is not rolling over like Obama and others before him?

... and Savage believes the Norks are going to tell us in advance they will attack Guam?

They would use their first strike to take out Guam? Are you kidding?

Are there people who actually believe this crap?

Remember, we signed an armistice, not a peace treaty. The same state of war that existed in 1953 exists today.

This reminds me of the old Warner Bros Cartoon in which newspapers blast to the world that Hitler will fly the next bombing raid on Moscow! Of course, all those little gremlins have different ideas.

Forewarned is forearmed. Plan on something happening elsewhere.

NK is only interested in disrupting the Winter Olympics in Seoul. Trump should ignore them for 6 months. NK and China just want to hold the Winter Olympics hostage and get concessions for not going to war. The reality is that NK and China know that SK will not back the US during this time. So there is nothing to talk about. Trump should just say nothing until the games are over. Then SK will be more willing to engage. China has already retaliated against the US by retaliating against Seoul. That is their true ambition, hold the games hostage to weaken the US / SK alliance and win concessions.

I’ve said it so many times ... NK is a puppet of China, a “cat’s paw”, which is the perfect metaphor. How could they possibly get nuclear missle capability without China’s cooperation ... and that understates it. China is totally in charge of this whole situation. How could anyone doubt it?

By mid-August, the military will have completed its plans to launch four Hwasong-12 rockets over Japan and 18 miles off the coast of Guam, the statement says.

It will then report back to the commander-in-chief of the North Korean nuclear force and wait for his order.

This guy is telling everyone who will listen all about his next move.
That is Obama smart!
