I read that headline and said, “yup”. And AFTER that I noticed it was Shapiro.
Frankly, people disagree with Shapiro on the facts at their peril. It is a highly risky position to take, if history is any measure.

Ben’s article could have been said with equal truth but in a very small way; thusly: Very few details are yet laid out much less determined, and nothing is assured, nothing is for sure in thinking sheer will power can overcome what really remain as some very big differences, even differences between Korean and English in some of the terms in the English version of the joint communique. Nothing is yet assured and everything is part of a wait and see process. At the end of the day, the whole thing may get as bogged down in truths that cannot be overcome, as negotiating with North Korea has always done. Let’s wait and see. I am hoping Bolton remains true to all his past positions on Korea, and if he is told not to that he resigns.
It was a good first step. But there is no deal, nothing has been finalized, and North Korea hasn’t started denuclearization. There is a lot of work to be done and a lot of pressure yet to be applied. This could go down as one of the most momentous times in our history, only the second time a country has given up nuclear weapons. But we’re not there yet, and crowing about a win and claiming victory too early is not going to help accomplish it.
