Trump is Making America Great Again ... Are You Helping or Hindering

Posted on 05/20/2019 10:43:38 AM PDT by jda

A great bumper sticker. Why would anyone not want America to be great ... oh, yes, the liberal, socialist, dems (but I repeat myself).

Another idea:

President Trump wants American Greatness.
Democrats are fighting against him.
Let that sink in.

I wonder if constantly whining that "nothing's happening" and "nothings EVER gonna happen" is helping or hurting MAGA?

I wonder if the question is value neutral.

What possible effect do individually expressed opinions have?

I may have rare moments of arrogance but I'd never pretend that
my opinion one way or the other has any real impact on the greater world.

I get one vote just like everyone else.

First time I voted for Trump because he wasn't Hillary.
Next time I'll vote for him because the economy is rocking
(current market flux notwithstanding.)

Isn't that all that matters, regardless my opinion of prosecutions
or pedophiles or chem-trails and Rothchildrens?

What possible effect do individually expressed opinions have?

Opinions influence attitudes. Attitudes affect action.

Ever heard the term "mood of the nation"? How does that mood become shaped, if not by "individual expressed opinion". Our posts here matter. Every opinion matters. They can shape, influence, and mold "public opinion". And you must know that public opinion greatly affects a society, especially a representative republic such as we have (or used to).

Why do you think the derp media works so hard to lie to us and "set the narrative"?

This forum is a microcosm of how public opinion is shaped. People are herd animals and if enough individual voices express an opinion, the tendency if for those not-so-independent thinkers to adopt what they feel is the general consensus and prevailing attitude.

So, yes. Individual expressed opinions are very important in a free society. That's why the derps seek to suppress them.

Watch, for example, how opinion is "shaped" here on FR.

Just wanted you all to know that I met this great black checker at Home Depot today...she was lamenting the fact that she hadn’t been able to attend any of Trump’s rallies, and she said, “I love that guy, he tells the truth!” And then she said “we all do” - by which I assume she meant family and friends.

I think a lot of black people are getting sick of being condescended to and treated like permanent basket cases by the Dems...they like Trump because he tells it like it is and thinks they can do as well as anybody else in a prosperous economy (which they can).

Well, I actually have some respect for ol' Bagster and he gets
more than a single line of brilliantly constructed contrary snark.

This time.

Truth be told, during the 2016 primaries I wasn’t a “never Trumper. More like a “at this time not so sure about Tumper”. But he won it fair and square, THANK G-D ALMIGHTY!!

Yes. The Trump rallies we've been to in FL I noticed quite a few Black people as well as Latinos, Asians etc. Way too many to be written off as "window dressing" or tokens.

See your next line for the answer:

Why do you think the derp media works so hard to lie to us and "set the narrative"?

Nobody is listening to me nor do my opinions reach (or get seen by) more than a few people.

Personally my opinion about Trump isn't in the least influenced
by anything I read here or anywhere. Articles and posts alike.

Do you mean to say that if you had seen enough clever posts
or articles or blogs dragged out of the sewer about how great
Hillary was... why then you would have been convinced to vote for her?

Correct... hell to the no.

It wouldn't have influenced you in the least would it?

I already knew the answer. It was rhetorical and meant to refute your claim that "individual expressed opinions" don't matter. They do.

Let's face it. You rarely venture an opinion. Yet you have somewhat of a following and some influence. Your opinion does matter, if only in the small way you describe, as does mine in my small "circle of influence".

Thing is, circles of influence add up and work to shape opinion. Our small corner of the internet undoubtedly presents our collective opinion to the world. Does everybody see it? No. Do some? Yes.

Personally my opinion about Trump isn't in the least influenced by anything I read here or anywhere. Articles and posts alike.

I call shenanigans. You may not admit it, but your opinion was come to by taking in information about Trump and what he's done and is all about. Where did you get that data input, Mr Roboto?

I bet you got a lot of it right here on FR.

Do you mean to say that if you had seen enough clever posts or articles or blogs dragged out of the sewer about how great Hillary was... why then you would have been convinced to vote for her?

Me? Never. I know better. But plenty of people don't. Millions of people were convinced to vote for her, though. How did that happen? Information, indoctrination, listening to "individually expressed opinions" over a lifetime and in the short term, along with the suppressing and de-legitimizing contrary "individual expressed opinions".

The derps know how to play the information game. Our side is just now catching on. Trump knows.

Information wars are real. Propaganda wars are real. They work, for good or ill. That's why, I think, what I do on the forbidden thread is important (in it's admittedly small way).

We are currently in a world-wide information and propaganda war to sway and form "public opinion", which in turn can affect what Trump and his people will be able to do to eliminate our enemies.

So, to sum up.

"Individual expressed opinion" is not only necessary to restore and keep liberty, but the freedom to express opinion is a goal unto itself.

The founders knew what they were doing.

Observation of the world.
Hillary is Hillary and Trump is Trump. Both known quantities.
No prompting required.

Let's face it. You rarely venture an opinion.

Y'all not worthy.

Millions of people were convinced to vote for her, though. How did that happen?

Were you "convinced" to vote for Trump?

We are currently in a world-wide information and propaganda
war to sway and form "public opinion", which in turn can affect what
Trump and his people will be able to do to eliminate our enemies.

Tom Clancy meets Matrix meets Game Of Thorns.

Actually, on some microscopic scale I'm sure your point is valid.

But you've admitted none of that bunk swayed you in the least.

Observation of the world.

What form did your "observation of the world" take?

I submit to you that you absorbed data about both Hillary and Trump over time. And you didn't do it by osmosis or mental telepathy. You did it by "observing" facts and opinions presented by others, or "individual facts and opinions".

Were you "convinced" to vote for Trump?

Of course I was. I was convinced by watching, looking, and listening. And by a lifetime of doing the same for derpocrats and Hillary. It's all part of the signal. Denying that is foolish.

Y'all not worthy.

Agreed. But I won't waste my time on this earth keeping my opinion to myself. You have a good brain and good opinions. Don't let 'em go to waste. Try helping make the unworthy, worthy.

Tom Clancy meets Matrix meets Game Of Thorns.

Absolutely.

Life imitates art. Or vicey-versey, I forget which.

But you've admitted none of that bunk swayed you in the least.

Did I?

I'm not arrogant enough (close) to think that I form opinions all on my own without any input.
