Senator Bernie Sanders likes his hotel rooms cold and does not like slow flushing toilets, according to a leaked tour rider from his 2020 presidential campaign.
Referred to as the 'Senator Comfort Memo,' the document offers specific arrangements that need to be met for Sanders' hotels, food, drink, family and staff.
Marked 'confidential: for campaign staff use only, not for circulation,' the two-page memo is dated April 10, 2019 and was first reported by the Smoking Gun Wednesday.

Sanders requests that rooms have a down comforter or at least one extra blanket and also asks that they come stocked with bathtubs if possible.
Desiring to exist in nippy conditions, the memo states that SBS needs a fan in the room if the room's thermostat does not go below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
'Always test, set, and run thermostat before arrival,' the memo states in all caps.
Bernie request that that his accommodations provide the following each day: green tea with honey (saving any excess honey packets), English breakfast tea, a low sugar drink, one small bottle of red Gatorade, one bottle of Smart water, clementines and a small can of unsalted cashews/walnuts/almonds.

I consider these requests as living large. How many regular people have assistants who go into their hotel rooms to set the temperature before they arrive or stock up on drinks and snacks? I'd say most voters don't have that luxury. Seems like an elitist prima donna thing.
Besides, it shows he's a hypocrite. He's for the Green New Deal yet wants his AC set to below 60 degrees and doesn't like low flow toilets. And the aforementioned setting of the thermostat before he arrives so that a room is cooling off with no one in it. Hypocrite.

I shared a hotel room with a buddy and found out he liked it around 60. We almost killed each other.
A few weeks later he sent me a picture of his hotel thermostat at 56
I happened to be on the road that day and turned mine up to 98 and sent him a picture.
I agree with you. As much of a loon as he is, the dude is on the road constantly. These are not bad requirements.
One of my old time sayings was, "Picken shit with the chickens", I will now change that to,
"Picken shit from a gold toilet, {with the chicken hawks}".

Sanders isn’t an executive. He’s a public servant. Besides, these are comfort issues, not issues that will interfere with his schedule.
(And note that these comfort issues are out of step with his messaging.)

Bernie is susceptible to being attacked, as you put it, by those with a view of America that is diametrically opposed to his. His thinking of himself as a privileged prima donna, as evidenced by his ridiculous pomposity regarding his hotel room amenities, will not serve him well.
Who do you know, when prior to checking into any hotel, has a list of prerequisites as those ascribed to Bernie?
He’s an old fart die hard communist. Why the majority of Vermont voters elect him to anything is beyond my comprehension. Were it up to me, and it is not, thankfully, I would condemn him to an eternal life in hell. God may be more generous, as He accepts repentant sinners, through Jesus, up to the moment of their demise. Thus, even for Bernie there is hope.
As another said here, Bernie is not an executive. He has never held a private sector job. He’s a deadbeat who lives on the political government teat. He is an enemy of America. Last, and least, he is a public servant. He should fly coach, not in private jets or in first class. He should stay in the $59.00 a night motels, etc.
