During an appearance with Lawrence ODonnell on The Last Word a few days ago, a caller asked Joe Biden a very interesting and ironically appropriate question: Would you be willing to commit to the ideal that no one is above the law? Because the question had been framed in the context of Gerald Fords pardon of Richard Nixon and Biden was being asked if he would pardon President Trump after being elected, without really thinking, he jumped at the opportunity to boldly proclaim that no one is above the law and said, Yes!
For once in his life, Biden had blurted out an instinctive and obvious truth, and those words may eventually come back to haunt him. During his very last days as vice president, Biden unmasked General Michael Flynn and by a very strange coincidence, it happened to be the very same day Flynns name was leaked to the media. In the unlikely event Biden had some legitimate reason for unmasking Flynn at the time, its improbable that he would remember what that reason might have been, more than three years later. Leaking Flynns name is a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
The moral of the story is be careful what you wish for, because you might get it. The United States is a republic formed by democratic vote, not a monarchy. We elect a president, not a king. Politicians are not royalty. The problem with the question was that it began with the assumption that President Trump committed some sort of crime that would require a pardon to avoid prison. However, after a Mueller investigation that dragged on for a couple of years without revealing any crimes by Trump and an absurd impeachment by the House

How many crimes did the DemocRATs commit? They should be charged with all possible crimes and the taxpayer money wasted should be recovered from the bad actors that did it, not by suing the government.
Not. Going. To. Happen.
No chance at all that bam will ever face any kind of prosecution. He has two get out of jail cards and money.
too many unmasking requests to pinpoint the leaker. they covered their tracks well.
a trial would shine a light on the practice, but it will also show that no one will be held accountable.
things must change, and the president after trump will decide the direction of this once great experiment.
I know how people think and what people want, I do also, BUT, obammy, the Klintons, ANY OF THESE LEFTISTS, Soros, you name them, those of Hollyweird, you name em, there will never be a one, not one, of them will be tried or go to jail. Just ain’t going to happen, never, ever, ever!! We can hope for it, pray for it, do whatever for it, but IT ain’t gonna happen. Never. Sad as it is, just won’t happen.
Whatever the dollar amount-it’s value is inestimable for attention-addicted Liberals, who with the complicity of a criminally incompetent MSM, are trying like he&^ to make careers out of bringing groundless charges against Conservatives!
On their own, NO individual Liberal creep could possibly afford the kind of wall-to-wall media attention they get when they do this stuff....yet-there they are... grinning in our faces when their gratuitous smears fail and THEY walk away without penalties of any kind!
I have an idea how to get them all into court. Make it a crime to be an obnoxious prick. Now it’s true, I will also have to go to court, but I am willing to take one for the team on this.
And, just to put the finishing touches on your post, “...and that is why the America that truth-seeking, liberty-loving, God-fearing patriots once believed in is at an end. It has simply become a land where everyone will be doing what is right in their own eyes...and a house divided [like that] cannot stand.”
Ps. 127:1
It’s a pipe dream to think any of them will get what they deserve. Unless there’s some sort of Dexter-type “vigilante” who hasn’t made himself known yet...?
The Wikipedia says about Watergate:
There were 69 people indicted and 48 peoplemany of them top Nixon administration officialswere convicted.
Plus an pardoned un-indicted co-conspirator.
If anyone else gets indicted, even today, there ain't time to put them on trial, convict them, and send them to Leavenworth or SuperMax before the campaign season, before the conventions, before the election.
Sorry, that's the point that we're at in the game. Trump is going to have to overcome vote fraud, pick up a couple of seats in the Senate AND take back the house, (again, overcoming MASSIVE vote fraud especially in California but now other places also thanks to mail-in voting in certain states) all by himself without the benefit of justice having been brought to any of these @$$#013$.
That's just where we are in the game. Justice will have to happen in the second term, if at all. For the perennial optimists out there who want to believe this kind of corruption can't go on unpunished in America, like myself, six words explain this:
Yes it can. Because Jeff Sessions.
Now that you mention it, three get out of jail cards, by my count...
Which is how this ends. All leads to Obama but ex-presidents are untouchable, especially half black dems so it dies. Brennan/Comey and a few others will get a slap on the wrist because “they were just following orders.”
Agreed.
Past performance by the DOJ actually IS an indicator of future earnings with them.
Trump is absent on crime. I expect no prosecutions at all. None. Not even for low level employees.
Maybe once upon a time.
After all we’ve seen how can anyone have any confidence in the rule of law? Seriously, I think most people have given up on that illusion.
Geeze MD, you hit that nail thingie on its head!! You are a million percent correct. Blessed day to ya.
