The Military Times has released a new poll among U.S. troops and its findings are bad news for President Trump. Conducted between July 27 and August 10, 2020 among 1,018 active-duty service members, it found that Trump has experienced a continuous decline in support from service members since his election in 2016. In the year he took office, 46.1% of service members viewed him as favorable and that slid to 37.8% by August of this year. The research found that 49.9% of respondents held a negative view of the president in 2019 and 2020. 7.9% currently view him as very unfavorable with 42% finding him generally unfavorable. Trump still does have strong support among some members of military with 24.5% holding a very favorable view of the commander-in-chief in August 2020, 13.3% finding him favorable and the remaining 12.3% holding a neutral opinion.
Compared to a similar Military Times poll conducted in 2016, Trump is heading into the November election without a healthy lead among service members. In October 2016, he held 40.5% of voting intention among military ranks, far ahead of Hillary Clinton's 20.6%. The remaining 34.3% of respondents said they would opt for a third party candidate. Fast-forward to August 2020 and Joe Biden is the most popular candidate with 41.3% of service members intending to vote for him this November compared to 37.4% who say they will vote for Trump. The share of the military looking towards a third party this time around has declined to 12.8%. The Republican Party has long considered the military a key part of its supporter base and these levels of unfavorability are unprecedented for a GOP president.

The military is made up of mostly young people who consume all the same social media crap as the rest of their age group so I wouldn’t be surprised of some of them were affected by it.

1,018 alleged military personnel polled out of how many total active-duty military? Isn’t it something between 1.25 and 1.5 million? (I’m reading a Wikipedia entry from 2016 for the numbers)

Totally fake news, I talk to Navy personnel several times a week and I’ve not heard one Sailor say anything negative about President Trump, all of them say they support him.
This seems like a coordinated campaign to me.
First, the “breaking” news he disrespected military dead.
Then a commercial, pre-made, with military people, saying what a terrible person.
Now this poll.
Mark my words. The Left is desperate, and they are pushing all their chips in, making all their calls, looking to muddy the election process before it even takes place, coupled with their attempt to set up the stage to allow them to engage in fraud.

So Trump greatly improved VA medical care. And he got a ton of money to buy them new toys and equipment. He talks about them and he treats them with great respect while Obama treated them like crap.
And yet we are to believe that the military does not like Trump.
Yup just another fake poll. And by the way all polls are fake.
Now take a poll from small landlords who are being ruined by the no rent mandates being pushed by the governors and now by Trump. Then you might might find some bad numbers that are legit.
A quick trip through Military Times will reveal the bias...

I am retired military. In my view if the perfumed Prince’s like Kelly say Trump is bad, well then I take it he is really baaad, like in a bad-ass. Thank you Mr. President for taking this hits for us.
I’ve had an Increasingly Unfavorable View of military leadership and their decisions and perspectives.
You know, those Deep State, Military-Industrial Complex, ladder-climbing, self-aggrandizing, self-enriching bastards that hate Trump for upsetting their tax-gulping gravy trains.
Now this is purely anecdotal on my part, but I’ve seen numerous people posting on social media *claiming to be active military* who do not support Trump. They seem to be vague about their reasons in many cases. I cannot tell if they are posers, morons, or just war-mongering Neo-Cons at heart.
There are an unusual number who post on the Lincoln Project website. So, it seems likely that they are of the Neo-Con persuasion. If that is the case, then I say good riddance. The party is better off in the long run without them. Their unpopular policies ended up giving us Obama.
