Are edible insects the solution to hunger?

While Americans aren't lining up to scarf down a bowl of crickets, consuming insects as part of a balanced diet is a critical part to the culture of many other countries around the world.

And, the trend could be taking off here in the states, as biologists say edible insects can provide solutions to hunger and climate change. Insects are going from pests to protein packed menu items, with the potential to combat the world's ongoing hunger and climate crises.

"They're low in fat. they're high in nutrients, minerals, uh, calcium. uh, so they're good for you."

Unlike traditional forms of protein like beef, environmentalists say creepy crawlies like crickets, mealworms, waxworms, and more require less water, food, and space to grow, creating opportunities to reduce deforestation, green house gas emissions, and resource consumption.

Ugh. The picture alone almost made me barf. There is a whole site devoted to this called Edible Insect News. It's puke-worthy, too.

let the elites, the scientists, the politicians, the celebrities, lead the way and exclusively eat them for years and we’ll see how they fare

Yes, perhaps Leonardo Dicaprio should serve them on his yacht.

To our hunter-gatherer ancestors, bugs were a common part of their diet. But in modern agricultural society, they’re no longer needed. It seems that liberals are always trying to take us back to the stone age.

(Are edible insects the solution to hunger?)

Are they grooming the world 🌎🌍 for a secular, post-nuclear-war, apocalyptic, dystopian future?

The bugs are coming and here's how they'll do it.

They're going to grind them up, process them, artificially flavor them, and mix them in with normal meat in cheap foods such as Hot Pockets and whatnot. The ingredients label will list something innocuous such as "organic protein".

Nobody will even know they're there.

Meanwhile, the elite will continue to dine on what will be astronomically-priced beef.

Hunger? What hunger? America is the only place in the world were poor people die of obesity, slumped in front of their 72 inch flat screen.

Maybe if we tar and feather every tenth author of “Let them eat bugs” articles, they’d stop.

Genetic - Modified - (fill in the blank) is not natural, even if organically grown. What do the bugs eat and where does the bug food come from? Can we get the historical data on the development of these GMO bugs and their food sources. Can we have the pre-DNA and post-DNA data? Can we make an informed decision. Will these bugs need to raised with or without medications, steroids, etc.? All of the answers to these questions are needed for people to understand what is in the diet.

Additionally, will these bugs be sterile, or do they pose a threat to the natural wild bugs if they are released into the wild populations? Can we get mandatory testing on sample releases of GMO bugs mixed into wild bugs and get the testing for the eggs, larva, puples, etc.? If they can reproduce they will be a hazard to the earth going forward. If they cannot reproduce, are they going be like the GMO corn and wheat that even when planted does not produce viable quantities of offspring.

“Are edible insects the solution to hunger?”

...and SOME PEOPLE HERE think that Putin is our big enemy. He can’t hold a candle to our Home-Grown Leftists, who are now in the process of ending the sale of meat.

Not gonna eat bugs. Ever.

That said, eating at least certain kinds of bugs is Biblical: locusts are actually kosher.
