Try the Veal.
I don’t use a butter knife. I use an old fashioned can opener, the kind with the triangle edge. Use the other side under the lip until you hear the seal pop. Works great!

Yes! I had forgotten it is called that. I call it a beer can opener, which is kind of obsolete.

My brother and I are big guys (6’4”, 6’6”), when one of our sisters brought a guy home, my Dad always made sure we were there!
I have found for many jars that a beer bottle cap opener will work as the knife in your example. Apply a little cap open pressure and the seal will hiss and the lid will open easily by hand after that.
My ADHD kicked in after 3rd paragraph.
