No more fag stories? Bummer.
So the Film Actors Guild is going to strike, eh?
I noticed recently that Tubi has the Donna Reed Show available for watching. Probably something like that even has more entertainment value than the dreck that these people would be churning out if they were not on strike.
They killed the goose that laid the golden eggs, and now it’s been so long since anyone remembers seeing an actual golden egg that we’ve all moved on to other things. Good luck ever getting us back.
Too bad, so sad.
Real filmmakers have been replaced by Diversity Officers with cameras. Imagine putting your typical corporate HR department in charge of producing “entertainment.” That’s where Hollywood is today. No one wants to spend their leisure dollars to be force-fed more “diversity training.”
I think California already has laws on the books, granting actors intellectual property ownership of their likenesses.
Long after, say, Brad Pitt, is dead, his heirs can license his likeness to star in more films.
AI won't kill all actors' careers. They'll continue earning paychecks without even working.
Now, this won't help most actors. Nobody wants their AI images. But they're already unemployed, so they'd be no worse off.
There is a great deal of quality TV programming available. Youtube is where you can find much of it. The Untouchables and Car 54 are as good as it ever got. All episodes are available. They’re also a tremendous cache of excellent movies there.
No, they don't. So long as Netflix, Apple+, Amazon Prime, etc., produce woke crap, they'll need to hire stars.
The question is not, do audiences want to see woke crap. The question is, will the oligarchs keep paying to produce it. And the answer is yes, they will.
I would agree. None of the big guys see much reason to offer improved numbers.
So when what happens with the fall TV season? Do they run repeats from 1970s?
I have the CTV app up here (not sure if it’s available in the U.S.) that has Police Woman and Charlie’s Angels and other great titles from the 1970s that I’ve favourited so I can watch whenever soon. Also noticed some time ago, Tubi has The Naked City, another great oldie to watch famous actors in very early guest roles.
Thank goodness. Let the writers and actors stay on strike forever.
So nice to see trouble in our enemy’s tent.
Ooooo Oooo Lucile!
Stay on strike . America wins.
No one needs the writers or the actors in Holly weird.
I wonder if this Union thing extends to TV shows? like CNN and other news? Or, day time shows like “the View”?
I read books, I build scale models, I work in my yard so this crap has no effect on my life whatsoever.
This is good news. Let all of Hollywood go on strike and stay on strike.
