‘Whole time the first order is $3 and the second is like $7’: McDonald’s worker complains about customers who ask for separate orders at the drive-thru 'Then end up using the same card.'

A McDonald’s worker shared her reaction when customers request separate orders in the drive-thru in a viral TikTok.

The seven-second video featured TikTok user @thatghanagal. She wore a headset while chewing gum. The text overlay read, “’I have two separate orders.’” An audio played, “Everyone knows that. Like, you to any place, you say,” followed by a heavy sigh, which the worker lip-synced. “Go ahead,” she mouthed, rolling her eyes.

The content creator elaborated more on this in the caption, writing, “I hate the people that be tryna place 3 orders.”

The Daily Dot reached out to @thatghanagal via Instagram direct message and TikTok comment. The video garnered over 175,000 views as of Sunday, where customers revealed in the comments why they do this.

“I’m sorry :(( I have online orders and then sometimes I be forgetting something I didn’t add,” one viewer said.

“I only do that at McDonald’s cuz me and bae be using the app for points,” a second revealed.

“Sorry I needed to pay cash for my order and my brother was paying his in card,” a third stated.

“I be having to go get lunch for my coworkers and I always feel so bad. But they always give cash and that’s the easiest way to give their change,” a fourth commented.

In addition, other McDonald’s workers shared their drive-thru pet peeves.

“It’s even worse when its 3 separate orders cus by the time they tell me their order my drive thru is PACKED,” one person wrote.

I've pretty much gotten away from my prepared food coming through a window. At least they're getting $15 an hour for their efforts.

I go to McDonald’s much more than I did in the past, due to my health. At McDonald’s, unlike mom and pops or ethnic food, they list out their ingredients, so I can then decide what I should eat, as I keep to low amounts of carbs.

One of the reasons the tik-toker is working at McDonalds.

The closest McDonald’s to me can’t get your order right, even if you go in to order it. The only thing they make that I like is their breakfast sandwiches, and they used the lockdown to get rid of their all-day breakfast. I’m 75, don’t go to bed at 8 p.m. like most old farts. I stay up until 4 or 5 a.m., so the chances that I’ll be up before they stop serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m. is slim to none. I don’t set my alarm clock unless I’m traveling somewhere or I’m having surgery. I’ll make my own breakfast and breakfast sandwiches rather than give McDonald’s my business.

My sense is that your average dairy cow could figure out and group a Mickey D's order by type and amount [4 cheeseburgers, 2 large fries, 2 small fries, 3 Cokes and 1 iced tea] before a group of your average american consumers could do this in their heads.

So the Merkuns have to do it all individually.

Gotta keep their strength up to put an "X" on their ballot before the local Democrat ballot harvester shows up to collect their ballot for the next "election"...

Two orders for perhaps two different people and they want a receipt for each order.

I can’t make sense out of this.

Did you try to read the comments? They’re just as bad. Like, they be having to order for three people, yo.

The stupidity is mind-boggling.

Buying at a fast food place costs as much as a real sit down restaurant.

Sometimes my wife joins me on my business trips. I pay for her meals on my card and pay for mine on the company expense card.

Deal with it.

Bottom line: Most people in direct sales to the public like to complain ‘Nobody Knows The Trouble Ahh Sees!”

Sort of like when I served in the Navy. Everybody has a top 10 biggest complaints about their job, their pay grade, their boss or their co-workers.

When your job is shoving food through a window, your time
belongs to your boss. Don't think. Just do what he wants.

I tend to give the workers at McDonald’s (and the like) a lot of leeway. They could be hanging out on a street corner, doing who knows what. But instead they are in working away in a hot room, trying to honestly earn a few dollars.

Sure, some of them are incompetent. And some of them just don’t care. No matter. I respect honest work, even if it is sometimes imperfect.

As a side note, I would not have said that back in the 1970s. But the work ethic has changed drastically since then. And so today I grade on a curve.

It lost me, too.

Don’t know why the employee is upset. It’s not like whatever the customer wants comes out of their pocket.

I’ll make my own meals for le$$ no matter the sale. No driving an hour and waiting in line only to get the wrong order. No worry about nasty hands or spittle. And homecooking is not cold when I sit down.

“...people that be tryna...”

“...sometimes I be forgetting...”

“...me and bae be using the app...”

“...I be having to go get lunch...”

That wording tells me all I need to know....

Post a drive-through policy: “one order per car - if you want a second separate order, go back to the end of the line”.

Corporate probably would veto that, but it would put an end to pinheads clogging up the drive-through.
