The Biblical flood coincides approximately with the ending of the last ice age. If it occurred suddenly and catastrophically instead of gradually, it might have supersaturated the atmosphere with water as the sea levels rose, causing world wide raining and overflooding. Just one theory.

Even if the flooding was thousands of years earlier, there would likely be some oral history of its occurrence. How that might change with time is up for debate.
Yes but even myth often has some basis in fact. It’s amazing how many stories from the Bible and elsewhere that were once thought of as mere myth have been found to be true. The Trojan War was once thought just literary fantasy. The Hittites were once considered a Biblical myth, but now we know there were a major civilization before the Bronze Age Collapse. We still have a lot to discover about the ancient past, and a lot that will probably remain hidden forever.

As the continent Pangea split apart and slowly drifted to present positions animals caught in those areas obviously had to change and adapt to the surroundings.Penguins due most likely to lack of trees,adapted to being able to swim instead of fly,Polar bears turned white to blend in with the ice and snow.
I could also use this explanation as to why we have different skin colors as people adapted to the climate they found themselves in.
As science progresses it proves the bible correct.the bible doesnt need to prove science is correct.

The bible says animals after their kind,,,meaning we only needed 1 pair of bears,I breed of dog,cat,etc etc,The different types of bears and dogs,cats etc etc developed afterwards.Many times by the direct intervention of man.Thats why dog breeders to this day develop new types of dogs.
