Panic Time for Obama … McCain/Palin Gets Bounce and Poll Trending in their Favor (Gallup & Zogby)
Scared Monkeys ^ | September 7, 2008

Now that’s a bounce and a half …

Obama, Biden, the LEFT and the MSM can complain all they want in their efforts to discredit Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, the truth of the matter is that their efforts are failing and the favorable trend of the McCain/Biden ticket is on the up-swing. The LEFT does not have the right to tell McCain how he is to run their campaign … Obama and his crew only have the right and ability to run theirs in the manner they seem fit. In all honesty, the Obama campaign has been run terribly of late.

The once candidate of Change has been anything but and is seeing his poll number go down the drain. Obama had a chance for change by choosing a woman for his VP. Obama did not and he now gets to witness the consequences. McCain to the chance and showed America who the real candidate of change really is.

In polling land all signs are pointing to an incredibly favorable trend to John McCain and Sarah Palin. The bounce from the Republican National Convention is ongoing as the momentum from the Palin phenomenon and McCain’s most watched speech is paying dividends.

The Gallup Daily tracking poll has McCain up by 3% points ahead of Obama. Not too long ago Obama had an 8 point advantage. These results of the Gallup poll are based on September 4-6 interviewing. As Hot Air points out the McCain advantage is outside the margin of error.

McCain’s 48% share of the vote ties for his largest since Gallup tracking began in early March. He registered the same level of support in early May. This is also McCain’s largest advantage over Obama since early May, when he led by as much as six percentage points. Obama has led McCain for most of the campaign, and for nearly all of the time since clinching the Democratic nomination in early June.

Earlier, Zogby had shown that McCain had taken the lead by a rather substantial margin 49.7% to 45.9%.Todays Gallup poll certainly confirms that the bounce is still in play and trending upward for McCain. Think the Obama camp is not worried? They most certainly are.

We need to win 70% to 30 if we can.

The pre-election polls always under-count all of the dead people and illegal aliens that will turn out for the Democrats on election day.

Some interesting perspective about Biden, Hillary and Obama on Hillaryis44.com

Biden will not be an attack dog for Obama
Hillary's appearances on behalf of Obama-Biden remind voters that Obama did not pick her

Expect the investigation into ANYTHING even remotely negative they can find on Palin (troopergate?) to be played up by the media ad-nauseum. If that doesn’t stick, the gold plated race card will be played 24-7 from that point until November. It’s all they have left.

I would wager that we would see a lot of carefully crafted stories in the media where the underlying theme will be: “If you don’t vote for Obama; you are a racist”

"Usually the big dirty tricks are used just before the election (think the DUI story in 2000) but if his numbers drop he may have to start using them sooner."

Now starting the COUNTDOWN: Keating 5 and Lobbyists In His Office stories.

...I give the over/under at 10 days from today, Sunday the 7th.

McCain and Palin will win by a landslide. Let's just hope they sweep in a Republican Congressional majority on their coattails.

The ugly attacks on Sarah Palin served to reveal the ugliness of the Left for exactly what it is--ugliness and viciousness.

Mendacity, decadence, and self-serving exploitation are always ugly, and that's exactly what the Left is.

The American people have listened politely and have heard what Obama and the rest of the Left have to say. Their response will be a resounding NO! in the November election.

Once again Leftist depravity has outfoxed itself by revealing itself.

“The pre-election polls always under-count all of the dead people and illegal aliens that will turn out for the Democrats on election day.”

True. Isn’t that one of the primary functions of a community organizer? Get the street people, the illegals, and dead to vote.

60 days to go. That’s an eternity in politics. If it’s late October and McCain’s up *by* 49%, then I MIGHT start to relax.

I want him to get a butt kicking like McGovern.

I would settle for a butt kicking like Dukakis (45% of the popular vote/20% of the electoral vote), but would really like to see a butt kicking like Mondale (40% of the popular vote, 2.5% of the electoral vote).

Not likely, but we can dream can't we?

I have suggesting that when Senator Obama loses he will have to write a new book titled “The Hopelessness of Stupid Audacity.”

Exactly. I’ve never understood how Axelrod is this great political strategist. Seems more like a partisan hack who benefited from operating in Dem controlled Chicago.

Welcome to the big leagues, David.

We can’t afford to think we are winning ... we have to act like we (well, ok, McCain and Palin) are 20 points down.

but this is sure encouraging news !!!!

I agree. This is a wakeup call for us.

For this big a shift, that means the public opinion is still volatile and can still swing the other way.

We need to work as if we are 10 points down.

Thus far the attacks are bouncing off of McCain/Palin and there is a law of diminishing returns.

Obama’s best shot is the debates, imo, and we saw how he did in Saddleback.

Obama now has 2 chances to win slim and none and slim left town hour ago.

Yes, but we know that "none" would register the dead to vote.
And "none" would bus the homeless to multiple polling sites.
And "none" . . .

Eternal vigilance.
