Pelosi's San Francisco GOP challengers raise $1.5 million

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Long time San Francisco republican leader and party historian Christopher Bowman said, "I've never seen such a phenomenon in San Francisco in my 29 years of being active in politically in the City."

Bowman is referring to the Republican primary in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's congressional district..

The two San Francisco Republican candidates challenging the Speaker have raised over $1.5 million from small donors around the country. Pelosi's congressional district has only 9% republican registration.

I’d like to be optimistic, but one of the two Republican challengers is a Ron Paul-ite, and the other one only garnered 9% in 2008 against Pelosi and Cindy Sheen...finishing 3rd. If the Republicans break 25% against Pelosi it will be a stunning victory. And, yes...I’m one of the 9% Registered Republicans in Pelosi’s district...woe is me.

Two upcoming special elections mean “November” starts now: Charles Djou for 1st Dist in Hawaii and Timothy Burns for 12th Dist in PA.

Those who would like to stip the Madame of her gavel can start with helping to elect these two good guys.

Not so. MA was always possible to elect a Republican statewide. This single House district is one of the most true-believing extreme-left ideological ones in the country. Mainstream voters began pouring out of the district in the 1950s and were all but gone by the early 1980s. Pelosi (along with Dianne Feinstein) is considered an establishment Conservative in this district. You'd have to run a Republican who was a Stalinist in order to be remotely competitive here, and why would they vote for a Republican when they could elect a Democrat (or Green) ? Barring a change of biblical proportions, a Republican cannot win here, period.

Not true that it is unwinnable. The key is to run a campaign that focuses on racism and brand Pelosi/Dims as racist. Hispanics need to feel that Dims are racist, blacks need to feel that Dims are racist, Chinese need to feel that Dims are racist. With sustained campaigning, this is not impossible. Remember that Robert Byrd the Klansman is a Dim. The message need to get out there.

Jim, I’m sure you’re a sincere man, but I’m telling you I’ve studied every Congressional district in the country going back to the 1st Congress. That seat is as impossible to win as they come, period. It is a moonbat district. Take everything you know to be right and sane and flip it upside down and that is what they believe there. You could have a Republican candidate with a billion dollars to challenge Pelosi, and they wouldn’t get more than 10-12% of the vote.

Let me show you the breakdown for post-1960 Presidential candidates for San Francisco County:
1960 & 1972 - 42% (Nixon)
1976 - 40% (Ford)
1980 - 32% (Reagan)
1984 - 31% (Reagan)
1988 - 26% (GHW Bush)
1992 - 18% (GHW Bush)
1996 - 16% (Dole)
2000 - 16% (GW Bush)
2004 - 15% (GW Bush)
2008 - 13.6% (McCain)

The sane people have left here, Jim. They’re not voting that way because they don’t “understand about Democrats”, they’re voting that way because they embrace the mental and moral dysfunctional and abhorrant behavior/lifestyles of the far left. Like I said, you’d need an event of biblical proportions to turn SF around, that or a half-million willing Conservatives ready to move there between now and election day in November.

Couldn't disagree with you more on that point. Perhaps in other districts with Congress-monkeys who are a little less front-and-center in the fascist seizure of power, but in this district, it's money well, well spent.

Sadly, we couldn’t win Pelosi’s district if the Green Party candidate got 25% and the Socialist Workers Party got another 25%.

Scroll down to my latter posts. You could spend a billion dollars in that district for our side, and you'd be pissing it away. That is a 90% anti-Republican/anti-Conservative district. The only thing that would damage Pelosi in that district is to accuse her of supporting Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann, and they would merely dump her in favor of someone even more leftist in the primary. Remember, Pelosi and Feinstein are considered "Conservative establishment" types there. Feinstein was the Conservative opposition to Mayor George Moscone and Harvey Milk in the '70s. No joke.
