I continue to believe that Sarah Palin is not yet qualified to be president, but my admiration for her continues to grow. Her interview with Sean Hannity, just aired, was almost pitch-perfect. It was dignified. It was well-modulated. It was strong. And it was thoughtful. She kept her composure even as Hannity put on the screen some of the vilest, most vicious attacks against her -- the sorts of things that were so bad that if they were said about me they might shake me to my core. She explained her thought process after hearing about the shooting in Tucson, and explained the timing of her videotaped message, and explained her use of the term "blood libel." She insisted, rightly, that strong and honest -- but respectful -- political debate should not be stifled, and noted that it only seems like the right is asked to stifle its views. She was correct on all counts.
The truth is, there is almost nothing this lady has ever done or said that merits the sorts of venomous vitriol to which she has been subjected. Her rhetoric is sharp but not hateful. Her views -- and even more, her actual record -- are mainstream conservative, not extremist. And her story of a plucky, self-made rise from unlikely (for a politician) origins, on the basis of hard work and gumption, is remarkably admirable. And, frankly, whom has she hurt along the way? The feelings of those who are appalled that she wouldn't abort her Downs Syndrome baby? The ideology of those who thought she should force her daughter to get an abortion? The corrupt old-boy network who plagued (and effectively robbed) Alaska....

I thought she did a great job.
Yeah, i guess he thinks Obambi is qualified, eh?
I continue to believe that Quin Hillyer is not a qualified, objective writer, but my admiration for him, in fighting his own Elitist beliefs, continues to grow.
By historical standards, Sarah Palin is extremely young to be considered for president. In 2024, a full 14 years from now, she will be still be four years younger than the elder George Bush was when he became president in 1988.
The problem with Palin is that she's not ready for the presidency. The promise of Palin is that she has plenty of time to prepare -- if, that is, she and her fans will both accept the prudential virtue of patience. Sometimes progress requires a pause. And the perspicacity to use it productively."
In this essay, he's right in her defense and praise f her, but like all the weenies, he stops short, so his words are almost meaningless.
Time is of the essence. Our Republic is at stake.
Tick Tock.
nice piece...
Oh yeah...
With the winds shifting in Sarah's favor, he's now trying to climb on the bandwagon he had no problem shooting at this time last year.
I think a lot of people would interpret it as "the left chooses suicide".
I realize that heated rhetoric comes from both sides. But, the left hands down, has got us bet by a million to one when it comes to hateful, lying, evil speech.
Months ago, I wrote a pretty harsh rebuttal of one of Hillyer’s attacks on Palin, so I am wary of him. I did hear him a few months back on Mark Levin and the two seemed like old friends, which definitely makes me feel better about him.
The two observations I have taken away from this Tuscon tragedy and Sarah Palin’s “pitch perfect” (Hillyer’s phrase, borrowed from David Broder, who called her message—in a burst of alliterative flourish— “pitch perfect populism”) response to it is that two figures—one major (Michael Savage) and the other minor (Quin Hillyer) have confessed that they were re-appraising their former dim views of Governor Palin. In other words, the left’s tactic of trying to link Palin with Tuscon has backfired. And her brilliant and dignified responses to it have intensified the effect.
The leftists detest her, but they can’t stop talking and writing about her both because: 1) She is likely to run and win, thereby ending their grip on power; and 2) Perhaps even more importantly, she is personally interesting-—a larger than life figure awash in a sea of political pygmies.
There is an active prayer thread going on for Sarah, sorry I don’t have a link. Onyx does, or Brices Crossroads.
Thanks, I was wondering about that.
Okay, I got it, here you are:

A bunch of us are concerned. This is a case where vitriol may spur a nutball into action...
Found it, thank you again :)
I agree, and if the left has done nothing else, it produces some of the most vile, demented people I’ve ever seen in my life. This is what happens to people who live godless lives.
If you pm Onyx, she will put you on her ping list and remind you to pray for Sarah Palin each day.
God bless, FRiend.
Thanks, I just mailed her :)
Yes, and Hannity can be quite aggressive and annoying during an interview, but she stood her ground never blinking an eye. Handling this stressful situation is proof that she cant stand up to the world's worst dictators and stare them down.
Sorry : “Handling this stressful situation is proof that she CAN stand up to the world’s worst dictators and stare them down”

HANNITY:
And the second one was the term — “but especially within hours of the tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.” And, you know, some of your critics saying, you didn't know the historical significance. ....
PALIN: I don't know how the heck they would know if whether I did or didn't know the term “blood libel,” nobody has ever asked me
Typo, eh? ;-)
