Coulter at CPAC: If we don’t run Chris Christie, Romney will be the nominee — and he’ll lose

An amazing clip considering Romney finished second, way ahead of the rest of the major GOP candidates (but behind predictable winner Ron Paul), in the CPAC straw poll. Plenty of grassroots righties would agree with the second part of Coulter’s statement (and some with the first part too), but for someone of her “true conservative” stature to drop it on a frontrunner at CPAC is shocking. And Mitt gets off relatively easy here, I think: Remember who it was who wrote the piece at Human Events in 2008 crowning Palin “conservative of the year”? Sarahcuda’s an afterthought in her formulation. Wow.

Around the same time that this was breaking on Twitter, Melissa Clouthier of Red State (who’s at the conference) claimed that Allen West answered a blogger’s question about GOProud by saying he’s for liberty for all Americans. We’ll have to wait for a direct quote to parse that further, but between him and Coulter, let me just say on behalf of myself and other RINOs everywhere: RINO-tastic! Click the image to watch.

Says the woman who trumpeted Mitt and his awesome hair just three short years ago.

Ann just misses the days when she was relevant.

At the risk of being redundant, I have to say: I will not vote for either the gun-banning Chris “Aitken can be a felon for all I care” Christie or the stealth statist Myth Romney.

New Jersey needs Christie. America does not. He’d assure that many conservatives would again stay home and the party would likely lose Virgina and NC again, and possibly other normally red states.

Coulter is beginning to discredit herself with many conservatives. Hate to see it.

Bob Dole was actually pretty witty, down to earth guy. I’m kind of appalled you would compare Dole to Romney. Like him or not, Dole knew politics. Romney is clueless politically and otherwise, and couldn’t buy a vote if he tried, which he has.

Plus Senator Dole was severley wounded in the service of his country. As I understand it, no member of Governor Romney’s family has ever worn the uniform of the United States. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

“Sorry, Ann. YOu lost cred with me when you welcomed the GOProud homos with open arms. If you fail to see the evil in the gay agenda & the subsequent detriment to our nation, then you ain’t too swift, IM”

The fact that Ron Paul won the straw poll should tell you all you need to know about this inside the beltway group.

Like him or not, Dole knew politics.

That would explain why he won.

Oh, wait.

I like Ann. However, I think she did not like the fact that the left and the media had branded her an extremist. So she is trying too hard to remove that label.

CPAC doesn’t yet realize they are irrelevant, the TEA Party folks aren’t listening to them anymore.

CPAC is for pundits

The good people of this country don't need to be told who to support by the chattering class

For at least a year, Coulter has had this same anti-Palin, pro-RINO perspective whether she’s being paid or just giving a radio interview.

Not only does she not speak for conservatism. When she pushes a pro islamic guy like Christie, she’s speaking against conservatism and against this country, whether she knows it or not.

Oh I don’t think Ann minded being branded an extremist as long as she was the center of attention.

She no longer is the “go to” girl of conservative commentary at the heart of why I think she isn’t fond of Palin. She’s been displaced.

Ann has been off of my list since her attack on then nominee for the Supreme Court John Roberts. Her critisis was gibberish, misplaced and she has never had the humility to apologize.

Not sure what they are smoking... but they are sounding awfully out of touch and senile. if I were Palin, I might as well got after CPAC a bit at the Tea Party Conference, but that is just me.

That is sad, as she (Coulter) had a unique way of talking about liberals and liberalism. There was room in the conservative movement for her. She did not have to move left.

From what I have seen so far about Justice Roberts, he was one of the better decisions of President Bush.
