Top 5 GOP Frontrunners (February 2011) [With 2012 Straw Poll to FReep]
Politicons ^ | February 13th, 2011 | Henry D'Andrea

Posted on 02/13/2011 7:14:26 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

It’s now been one month since I last did my prediction of the top five Republican Presidential Candidates, and this time around we saw a little change in rank. The biggest leap forward, was Mike Huckabee, which I previously had him placed third, he is now first. Followed by Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Tim Pawlenty.

(Chart at link)

Now I’m sure many of you disagree with Romney being third behind Sarah Palin, but I don’t view him as a good candidate. I don’t hate him, and I certainly would vote for him over President Obama, but he doesn’t appeal to me as a true Conservative Tea Party patriot that America needs to have as President.

(STRAW POLL AT LINK)

If Huckabee is first, and the nominee, I quit.

What? Just think of what a million “ethnic” felons, fresh from being pardoned by Gomer would do for the crime rate, welfare rolls and unemployment numbers!! And then there’s amnesty. And a fried squirrel on every table!!

A West/Rubio, Rubio/West ticket would be absolutely unbeatable. No one articulates more precisely, more convincingly conservative values, inspires more hope for a better tomorrow, embodies more the American Dream, or embraces more openly and comfortably American exceptionalism than these two fine representatives.

Yes sir. The top front runner as of today is Dr. Ron Paul. I like Sarah as a person but she pales next to the intellect of Dr. Paul (either one) . Newt has great intellect and is right on many issues. Romney is a pretty boy for the women but he really is a socialist. Who else? Huckelberry is out. Trump is a cartoon. Yep, its Paul all the way!!

Romney as a politician is/was a dipshit.

He is simply not cut out for it and he tried to play the game and has been spanked for it since. They sliced and diced him here in Massachusetts.

Ya.

Still, he likely would make a good Administrator with a conservative Congress and probably would make a great President.

Reagan never had Romney's problems, because he was somehow transcendent of that “go along to get along” mentality.

Too bad though that he (Romney) could not get me to vote for him in a Primary.

He has no chance.

None.

When debates start.....facts an ability to relate to voters will put Sarah at the forefront IMO. Only thing I want Sarah to consider is to call her opponents out in public in live debates where MSM can’t edit it out. Fight like Americas future depends on it because it does.....

Generally, I would agree with you.

But I'm more afraid the Mitt Ogre might be the Judas Goat to give us the Huck Ogre. Even more than the Huck Ogre would be the Judas Goat to give us the Mitt Ogre.

My nightmare scenario is a Mitt and Huck ticket in either order.

We really need a conservative at the top of the ticket. Not two RINO's.

We can survive with a RINO on the 2nd spot. Even Reagan had to do that to accomplish the greater good of getting a conservative elected POTUS.

Here's my gut feeling/2 cents;

Candidates likely consider trying their hand (in any order)

Palin

Bachmann

Romney

Maybe Rubio

Maybe Huckabee

Maybe Demint

Candidates who have a shot at winning the primary (in order of likelyhood)

1) Romney

2)Palin

3)Bachmann

4)Rubio, Huckabee, Demint, all don't stand a chance

Finally, candidates who could beat Obama (in order of likelyhood)

1)Romney

2)Bachmann

3)Palin

None of this is an endorsement of any above mentioned candidates or their politics, just my predictions. Take it or leave it.

Palin / West, just one of many possibilities.

Huckster / Romneo, not so much.

Whatever happens, this will be an interesting process.

Palin/West would be unstoppable. Of course, there's always Mike Pence and Jim DeMint and Michele Bachmann. Outside of those choices, we have nothing.

Romney and all RINOs need not apply.

There would be significant Constitutional hurdles to that ticket, considering they're both from the same state.

I am not a Daniels man, but I just watched the speech. The GOP establishment has a new rock star.

a. Palin
b. Romney
c. somebody else, who will be Daniels

Everyone else will not catch on one bit. Huckabeen will not run.

“If Huckabee is first, and the nominee, I quit. “

There are very few people on the planet who would not get my vote if they are running against Obama.

Achmedenijad. Gore. Kim.

I make no apology for voting “against.” I am ALWAYS voting for the lesser of two evils. I accept that, and will not wait for the 98% or 100% candidate to vote.

If it’s Huckabee, if it’s Romney, if it’s Palin, if it’s Trump - they have my vote. Shoot, I’d vote for Ron Paul if he was running against Obama.
