Former McCain aide Steve Schmidt told a apanel on Bill Maher which included California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom that the GOP lags in its tech and internet capability because it can't attract young, cutting edge workers. Why? They don't want to work for a bigoted party.
Said Schmidt.
"If you look at your first guest on talking about brilliant young people in computers who understand all this stuff [and] be at the cutting edge, it's difficult to make the case to work for a political party that wants to discriminate against their friend who happens to be gay. So we have an enormous problem because of some of our issues in the Republican party that are so out of step whether its with regard to women, gays, the anti-immigrant rhetoric, and it makes it difficult to attract the best and the brightest in this space."
The panel then moved on to CPAC and its rejection of Chris Christie, and Schmidt got thanks from Newsom for signing on to the GOP SCOTUS amicus brief....

Seriously, is this guy just a parrot or did he fall down and hit his head? Also, does he wear a badge that says: “Token”?
He should be wearing a badge that says “World Class Ass Hat”
Read the comments at the link. And that’s a homosexual site!! LOL
if ‘cutting edge’ means making web pages... that’s laughable.
if ‘cutting edge’ means client/server apps sync’ing data on election day... again, laughable
‘cutting edge’ these days would be using software to splice dna into the strands you want then incubating the result.
‘cutting edge’ would be designing 3-D printers that can take cad drawings and ‘render’ them into the real world
‘cutting edge’ would be designing small, self contained, nuclear ‘batteries’ to power 100,000 homes for 30 years
‘cutting edge’ would be the ability to have ones thoughts immediately known to another using an implanted chip
seriously, get a freakin grip. html and web docs are just the latest form of word processing and there’s no shortage of those people.
as for being anti-homo... that would be due to the non-stop, rabid indoctrination at the university level. you don’t pass / graduate unless you’ve proven yourself willing to cow-tow to the buggers
“Cutting-edge” must the new slang for anal sex.
The problem is that cutting edge workers in the GOP are truly conservative.
When does FR disacossiate from the GOP?
The problem is that cutting edge workers in the GOP are truly conservative.
When does FR disassociate from the GOP?
Karl Rove agrees, which means Jeb Bush agrees.
Because the GOPe is run by people like Schmidt
The GOPe can’t attract conservatives ‘cause they have put Tokyo’s head up Jeb’s butt.
Which is why I went to college by testing out, online & by mail. When a professor in my conventional university brought a super-lefty politician to lecture and wouldn’t counter with conservative the next time, I went to the dean and learned that my tuition money meant squat.
It’s perfectly reasonable to support gays gaining an equal footing in contract law (even though I personally believe that is a lifestyle of death and slavery that only Christ Jesus can free from- and would preach as such to any friends in truth and love), it’s a WHOLE other radical proposition to redifine the institution of marriage!
This is the same guy who played a major role marginalizing Sarah Palin during McCain’s “run” for President.
He then made the rounds attacking her after the election.
In short, this is one of the “Republicans” who helped destroy Sarah Palin.
To put it politely, he’s not worth warm spit.
This is purely wishful thinking on Schmidt's part. My son just graduated from George Washington University with a degree in political science. He is also expert level at web site design, programming, and social media integration. He is happily working for a significant player in the Republican party's re-invigorated digital strategy.
So, Schmidt thinks that the only way to attract brilliant young people with cutting edge technological chops is to endorse the gay lifestyle. Yeah, and he was also one of the leading advocates of McCain and Romney as the best possible candidates for the party. The failure of the party's digital strategy can be laid at the feet of the idiot consultant class like Schmidt. They are the ones who failed in the last cycle, so go away.
Schmidt, I think it is time for you to come out of the closet. You really are a Democrat. Go ahead, say it. You'll feel much better.
His and Nicole Wallace’s 15 minutes have expired. Somebody get a rope.
Look who else came out for the GOP supporting homosexual marriage:
Former Bush staffer: GOP should be outspoken advocate for gay marriage (Guess who?)

Steve Schmidt... Isn’t he the little hose sucker that sabotaged Sarah Palin? of course, Maher will love him longtime.
GOP = Gay Old Party
