I doubt there are many federal employees making minimum wage or less.

Raising the Minimum Wage is good for:

1) Eliminating tens of thousands of Teenage Jobs (hurting the young)

2) Stopping firms from hiring minimum wage workers they planned to do (preventing Job Creation).

3) Bankrupting more businesses that cannot afford it (Destroying businesses).

“I doubt there are many federal employees making minimum wage or less.”

It’s for federal contractors too. They may have some broom pushers, etc., that will now make the new minimum.

Maybe not, but there are union contracts where wages are tied to the federal minimum wage. When that goes up, many union wages go up.

Is it in the budget to allow him to unilaterally increase the minimum wage? So where is the money going to come from?

We have many states which have raised the minimum wage, next door to states who have not. The statistical analysis of the differences between them reveals it’s almost insignificant.

Until businesses start making their point more stridently (i.e. voting with their feet) we are not gonna win this argument.

Why stop at $10.10 an hour?
Why not raise the min. to $30 an hour? $50?
$100 an hour and riches undreamed will accrue.
No? Why not?

Why not $1M per hour? At the rate that gold has been disappearing from Fort Knox, that may be closer to the real number ranyway.

Wouldn't the problems be solved by having a period of six months or so that had a lower minimum wage for new employees?

I don't see where raising the minimum wage is such a bad idea. If there were safeguards that jobs went to US workers instead of invaders and other unnecessary immigrant labor, it could cut into the unemployment situation, and lessen the need for government handouts.

A large segment of corporate America wants to keep its invader labor and assure they'll never have to raise their wages, replacing US citizens in the workforce.

As far as young people getting work? If we went back to reasonable minimal restrictions to being self employed, there'd be a whole lot of ways to make a paycheck.

Bad idea? How about, 1st, they figure where the authority comes from?

One never sees a Leftist/Socialist create a business and pay what THEY believe is the ‘fair/living’ wage.
