Dear Fellow Mississippians,
The Desoto Times Tribune ^ | June 20, 2014 | Pat Holland, Olive Branch, MS

Posted on 06/20/2014 10:09:15 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I am a lifelong Mississippian, and I was a Cochran supporter for years and had planned to vote for him again this time. However, I had a chance to meet Chris McDaniel at an event in DeSoto County. I grilled him and asked several questions about what he could do for us in Washington? For me, it is not all about the money. I believe in States supporting themselves. Federal funds should only be given to States in the event of an emergency. I think that was what our Founding Fathers thought too.

I chose to vote for Chris McDaniel for the following reasons:

First, I care about our education system. When my children started to school in the 70’s when Cochran took office, our State was 49th in the country. Today our state is still 49th in the country. Where is all the money going if the quality of education is not improving? Supposedly Cochran has helped our State get a lot of money for education, but money has not helped our education system.

Second, I am fed up with politics in Washington. No one is standing up for us, and certainly not Cochran. He is tired, and he is not doing anything to help our families and help defend family values. He does not seem to be aware of the number of people in our State who have lost their jobs because a lot of small business owners have had to close their doors.

Third, Chris is a very intelligent man. He writes a lot of the Legislation in our State; he does not just vote. We need someone in Washington who will get involved and help draft Legislation that is good for ALL of us, and then help get it passed.

We have REAL problems in our country, that are affecting our day to day lives. What kind of country are my children and grandchildren going to live in? A country where even college graduates will not be able to get jobs. The entitlement programs provided by the federal government are supported by taxpayers who have jobs. What is going to happen when the people receiving benefits exceed the people who have jobs, if not already?

We need to elect a new energized candidate that knows what we are facing in our daily lives in this State, that is in touch with what is going on here. Someone who has a family and cares about the future. I don’t think Cochran even thinks about the future for his family, as he seems to have become a wealthy man since going to Washington almost 40 years ago. Which prompts me to say that Senators and Representatives need to have term limits, like the President and the Governors.

Things have got to change starting in THIS election cycle. I would greatly appreciate your voting for that change and voting for Chris McDaniel.

Sincerely,

Pat Holland, Olive Branch, MS

McDaniel is absolutely right that states should support themselves.

On top of that the federals get every dime of revenue from people living in 50 states. For every dollar they collect they return only a fraction back to the states. So how does it benefit the states?

The federals should be mainly responsible for national defense. The feds have regularly made a mess out of so many things...Veteran’s Admin is a mess, post office is a mess, IRS is used as a political tool, Amtrak is a mess, borders are a mess, medicare is broke, social security funds have been raided, Dept. of State can’t even protect our ambassadors, Feds attack ranchers with machine guns because their cows ate grass which regrows in a few weeks, our election system is a mess, just to name a few of the federal messes.

Exactly. They don't seem to realize that one of the smears they are using against McDaniel "He would have found it a hard decision to vote for Katrina relief", is one of the reasons I want him to win the Senate seat. It SHOULD be a hard decision to rob Peter to pay Paul. All Thad has to offer is that he brings billions of taxpayer funds to the State and also helps others get more billions of taxpayer funds for other dalliances - Thad is a big part of the government in its out-of-control spending orgy.

Tennesseans are in the same position this election cycle. Lamar is a clone of Thad. RINO, Oath Breaker of terms and out.

Beat Lamar: TN State Rep Joe Carr
http://www.carrfortn.com/

Last week, it was revealed that Cantor’s challenger, Dave Brat, spent less on his ENTIRE campaign than Cantor’s campaign did on high-end steak dinners in DC.

This stunning fact revealed just how far Cantor had strayed from the district he allegedly represented.

This fact also made us wonder—just how much has Lamar Alexander’s campaign spent on high-end steakhouses?

We dug through Lamar’s finance reports and found Lamar’s campaign has spent a total of $39,779.55 at high-end steakhouses in DC and around the country.

Nearly $40,000 spent at high-end steakhouses for his supporters??? Talk about out of touch with our conservative values.

Conservatives in Virginia and Mississippi have led the way in fighting back against out of touch Washington insiders. Now, we have the opportunity to knock off another Washington insider Lamar Alexander who sides with Obama 62% of the

Nat. GOP org called last night for money, husband told him he didn’t want to talk to him and hung up. We give direct to our candidate, not any national GOP RINO ORG that props up the RINOS with our donations. We want change, we have to CUT THEM OFF!

Pro-Cochran Mississippians are pathetic. They are supporting him saying that we will lose out on all the federal pork. That’s the only reason they say vote for Thad. Pathetic.

If I may ask, did you vote for Cochran the first go ‘round; June 3rd? I’d like to think that a lot of folks who voted for Thad the first time are changing their minds now.

Well, ask them the question the writer of the Article asked: We were 49th in the nation in Education when Thad went to Washington and we're still 49th forty years later. What good has the federal pork done for the children?

Yes, I did vote for Cochran first time around. This was not a decision that was easily made and my wife has declared her intent to stick with Cochran. Guess we’ll just cancel each others votes.

Since we just moved to the Atoka area of Tipton Co last June, I’m just learning the politics. My current state Rep is Debra Moody, RINO. I will be supporting Rory Bricco a staunch conservative for that office.

Adds up on Memphis TV from Club for Growth against Thad C, they just need to include lamar in them to be perfect.

Carr so far has not journey to far into West TN. I’ve suggested several times he do a Millington, TN Sat afternoon visit, that would draw from Shelby, Tipton and Fayette counties. Work days are bad ideas, nights, seniors your most reliable voting block don’t do a lot of night driving due to eye sight. Afternoon on a Sat is perfect.

No signs up, yet, seen 1 lamar yard sign.
