The Republican who lost a primary runoff election to Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran says he plans to challenge the results in court "any day now."

Chris McDaniel says he believes there were thousands of irregularities.

In an interview with CNN Friday, McDaniel said what matters is that fraud be uncovered where it exists and many Mississippi residents are "very angry" because they think their votes in the June 24 primary were nullified by fraud....

Charles Johnson is confident this will be overturned.

I’m confident Thad will withdraw when he sees how close to him the prosecutions are going to get.

Whether McDaniel wins or loses in court, he has poisoned the well. The publicity from the lawsuit means that many of the people who voted for him may end up not voting for Cochran. I expect that in GOP establishment circles, McDaniel has become a one-man leper colony, a pariah of sorts. He can’t run as an independent, but he can deny Cochran his seat.

I would assume the vote "verifiers" are taking the day off. Hope so. Come back with renewed vigor on Monday. About 5K fraudulent votes or at least "irregularities" now. Surely one week from today we will know if the number exceeds 6700.

Best of luck to all in MS who are pushing for this "election" to be tossed out by the courts. And best of luck to Mr. McDaniel and all supporting his cause!!

No, an independent run or write-in are not options for him under Mississippi law.

Where do you get your information? This kind of baseless rhetoric is what keeps people from exposing fraud, if you fight it you’re turning off voters, if you fight it, you’re ruining your career, if you fight it you’ll be seen as a sore loser.

BS, if you fight it you might put a dent in voter fraud, you might let people have the candidate they voted for, you might expose the GOP and Democrats for what they are.

Interesting poll in a link to another article at your referenced site. 68% of people who responded thus far do believe the “Reverend’s” charges of receiving money from the Cochran campaign in exchange for obtaining illegal votes.

Yeah. Right.

And here’s a parallel to your premise: rape victims “poison the well” when they speak out against their assailants. Why, in a small town, they may never get hired or find a mate.

Do you agree?

I disagree. If the votes that put Cochran over the top came from illegal sources then McDaniel won the conservative vote. In the general election he will again win the conservative vote.

"McDaniel has become a one-man leper colony, a pariah of sorts"

You see the trees, but missed the forest. "We", the God-fearing, patriotic America loving, Constitution following, Founding Fathers respecting, free grass roots Citizens are the "lepers" and "pariah" in the eyes of the progressive liberal God-hating anti-Americans who have embedded themselves in our government in both parties. McDaniel is a only a tree; I'm a tree; you're a tree; but "we" are the forest. And our enemies, foreign and domestic, have every intention of slashing and burning us from the edges right to our very core. McDaniel stands on a hill. And it's a good hill to live or die on. I stand with him.

Well, yeah. He was that when he decided to run against Cochran in the first place, don't ya' think? Once he demonstrated he can draw as many votes as the incumbent, in a primary, he's a marked man to the GOP establishment, which is ALL about protecting the incumbent, at all costs, no matter how liberal the incumbent is.

McDaniel was a pariah for forcing the runoff.

Normally, I’d agree with you, if I felt he were just a sore loser grasping at straws. But there is ample evidence in this case that there was fraud at all levels, and that it involved both Democrats and Republicans entering into an alliance to ensure a Cochran win by any means necessary.

I don’t think anybody, especially the people of Mississippi, benefit from just ignoring it.

McDaniel became Persona Non Grata to the GOPe the nano-second he challenged Cochran ... just as we peons become a pain in the ass to the GOPe when we serfs question our Over Lords ...

Poisoned the well?

It was the Cochran campaign that used race baiting and racist ads
against a member of their own party. And in the process poisoned
the well.

McDaniel is more than just a sore loser. There is clear evidence of ineligible votes and vote buying. If we value clean elections there needs to be a point where they are protested and litigated. The bad actors here are the GOPe..and we will make them pay one way or another.
