I have listened to Rush for many years. The longest I can
remember him gone was a couple weeks right after his ear surgery.

Transcript Of Rush Limbaugh On Legalizing Drugs

This information comes from a pro-drug site. The things you have posted may not be quite that accurate without another unbiased source to back them up, just in case.
Here on a pro-drug website.

You must eat TUMS like candy, what with all the bitterness inside you that has been bubbling over the last few days here at FR. Want me to add you to my prayer list?... The last name I added was Rush Limbaugh, you could be next to him.

I know what you mean about him talking so much, although I think he finally quit doing much of that recently. He never could understand why people didn't care to hear his personal stories, bless his heart!

I don't think he realized how much what he had to say about politics was what we all wanted to hear.

I just wonder if he'll come back in 30 days.... *sigh*

I'M GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWL!

Two consecutive weeks is the longest I can recall of Rush being out of pocket.

I don't personally know the intensity of any particular individual's pain. Do you?

I don't know anyone's pain tolerance other than my own. Do you?

I am simply saying that many people with chronic pain seek remedy after remedy. I don't think that makes a person evil.

Just because some people are able to live with pain doesn't mean that everyone can.

No, Rush does not see himself as a victim in the conventional sense, but does that translate into him not being a pain sufferer? I don't think so.

I am very disappointed in all the "high and mighties" who somehow see themselves in a position to KNOW exactly what are and aren't the circumstances surrounding Rush's addiction.

How have they learned so much about someone they only know through public knowledge and a whole ton of speculation?

What surprises me is that I don't remember him talking about...

Yeah, there is something missing here, I just can't figure it out yet.

No matter...pray for Rush, whom I love dearly and many of us owe a lot to. He has made a difference in a 'mega' way.

"Did you not realize Rush's sacasm when you read it ?"

No kidding. This is what Rush calls "illustrating absurdity by being absurd." That's why he recommends you listen to his show for several weeks nonstop before you decide you know what his show is.

FOX reported there are 11,000,000 (Yes, 11 million!) people now addicted to this drug.
The FDA put tighter regulations on it , but a lot of people got hooked before they did. FOX said it's 5x more powerful than heroin.

I agree about not knowing how much someone else is suffering. And I've heard horror stories about that OxyContin. I remember seeing a TV show on how powerfully that drug can grip someone.

Someone in the story committed suicide when they could no longer get it. Can't recall exactly, but the person was a sheriff or something like that. It was prescribed for pain, then it was withdrawn. I made up my mind I'd NEVER take it unless I was terminal. Scary stuff!

"The position of legalization of drugs is solid, as long as the worst drugs are illegal there can be no substantive control over them anymore than there was over alcohol in prohibition."

Legalizing abortion solved the problem of that being a crime... didn't it ?

... do I need to include a sarcasm tag here so you will recognize it ?

I was ready to end my life in 1974 because of back pain. The only relief I could get was to do pullups on a bar and hang there. Not what I wanted to do the rest of my life and then I was introduced to a Orthopedic Surgeon teaching in the Bay Area that took my case. Fused 8 lumbar vertebrae and installed a SS rod. I was in a cast from my chin to my hips for 10 months. No more pain...

The interesting thing was I was never offered pain killers and took only Tylenol etc...

This is a wild theory and very unlikely, but he has traveled outside the country a few times and to undisclosed locations. Perhaps he enlisted the help of a surgeon outside the U.S. and chose not to publicize it.

As a caller to Sean Hannity stated earlier this afternoon...Even in constant pain, even under the influence of painkillers, suffering from hearing loss, El Rushbo annihilated the libs. Just think what he can do when he gets back!!!

Before my first back surgery I kept hoping that it would get better on it's own, because I had had a few episodes and it did get better. But that time it didn't and I tried to tough it out. After two months of crawling on the floor to the batroom, as I pulled myself up and got a look of myself in the mirror, I looked almost subhuman. I thought to myself that this was not living.

I finally told my husband to get me to the hospital (no insurance) or clean out the garage so I could end it all. It really didn't matter which, that's how I felt. When you are in that much pain, you will do almost anything for relief. What brought things to a head, the family doctor gave me a prescription of Talwin that was supposed to last for 2 weeks and I took it all in about 4 days. I had no other choice but to get the surgery.

asked if the procecutors decision to handle the case had any impact on Rush's decision to enter a 30-day rehabilitation program

Bingo. Unfortunately for Rush's prognosis, "forced rehab" is an oxymoron.

The poster of Rush's statements seemed to be of the opinion that they were NOT sarcasm -

... and I've been listening to Rush since way before Bob's Bake Sale BTW
