Miller on Politicized Intelligence Memo:
‘Heads Should Roll’

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Zell Miller (D-GA) today released the following statement concerning a memo written by Democratic staff on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that suggests ways to politicize intelligence data:

“I have often said that the process in Washington is so politicized and polarized that it can’t even be put aside when we’re at war. Never has that been proved more true than the highly partisan and perhaps treasonous memo prepared for the Democrats on the Intelligence Committee.

“Of all the committees, this is the one single committee that should unquestionably be above partisan politics. The information it deals with should never, never be distorted, compromised or politicized in any shape, form or fashion. For it involves the lives of our soldiers and our citizens. Its actions should always be above reproach; its words never politicized.

“If what has happened here is not treason, it is its first cousin. The ones responsible - be they staff or elected or both should be dealt with quickly and severely sending a lesson to all that this kind of action will not be tolerated, ignored or excused.

“Heads should roll!”

[Zell Miller] needs to come out and switch to the GOP over this

People say this but I can't disagree more. He does much more good for conservatives and the country by remaining a vocal, conservative, ethical democrat. He strongly highlights exactly what is wrong with the modern democrats and therefore erodes their base with conservative southerns, moral democrats, and the religous on the 'd' side of the ballot box.

The point is well taken and I felt the same in 2002 when it was speculated he might jump. It would have gained nothing though, in the senate numbers game it still takes 60 to beat Tommy the Commie and his lib group. Zell kept his integrity and is doing massive damage right now to the libs of the party. He is doing a great service to our political system in his own way I believe. One thing for sure though, he puts his country ahead of his party depite his not switching. For that , I admire him

Even when John Connoly jumped parties he waited until after the 72 election. He led Demos for Nixon and bolted afterwards. I guess it's an honor thing with conservatives. You dance with the one that brung ya, till they leave with someone else. He has much more integrity than Jumpin Jim Jeffords

Zell isn't leaving the Democrat party...they left him. I LIKE Zell Miller. He's probably the only Democrat I've ever admired.

I'd rather have him in the Senate and a true conservative Dem because as a D, he automatically gets dumbass Atlanta votes. Our option is likely a RINO from Ga. that has to pander to Atlanta's leftists somewhat to get elected.

I'm a little late but I just read that the dim Democrats are more concerned that the Republicans may have got this memo by "illegal" means such as perusing a computer or going through someone's trash. Arghhhh, I have no words for those worthless lefties.

Thanks. I heard Sean Hannity break this news the other day. Apparently Sen. Rockerfeller is behind it and is trying to intimidate Hannity. Boy is he in for a big surprise!
