THE POST: Here's what Democratic Underground didn't want you to see

FROM THE 'DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND': A new low for the far left: a post titled, "Why I Hope the Bloodshed Continues in Iraq." I kid you not.

DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND DECIDES TO EDIT: Hmmm. After I linked to a truly hideous posting celebrating bloodshed in Iraq, they take the page down. I should have copied the page. First CBS. Now DU. Shine a light on them and they scram.

THE POST: Here's what Democratic Underground didn't want you to see:

I Hope the Bloodshed Continues in Iraq
Well, that should bring the bats out of the attic with fangs dripping. I won't be hypocritcal. It is politically correct, particularly in any Dem discussion to hope and pray and feel for our troops and scream "bring them back now". I'm fighting something bigger.
I'm a 58 year old broad and I can tell you that what is going on in our country isn't the usual ebb and flow of politics where one party is in power and then another; where the economy goes through ups and downs.......yawn, yawn--just wait a bit and things will turn out peachy keen. That stupid la-la land is over.
I realize that not every GI Joe was 100peeercent behind Prseeedent Booosh going into this war; but I do know that that is what an overwhelming number of them and their famlies screamed in the face of protesters who were trying to protect these kids. Well, there is more than one way to be "dead" for your country. They are not only not accompishing squat in Iraq, they are doing crap nothing for the safety, defense of the US of A over there directly. But "indirectly" they are doing a lot.
The only way to get rid of this slime bag WASP-Mafia, oil barron ridden cartel of a government, this assault on Americans and anything one could laughingly call "a democracy", relies heavily on what a shit hole Iraq turns into. They need to die so that we can be free. Soldiers usually did that directly--i.e., fight those invading and harming a country. This time they need to die in defense of a lie from a lying adminstration to show these ignorant, dumb Americans that Bush is incompetent. They need to die so that Americans get rid of this deadly scum. It is obscene, Barbie Bush, how other sons (of much nobler blood) have to die to save us from your Rosemary's Baby spawn and his ungodly cohorts.
I'm not saying this represents anything but a radical fringe. Implying that liberals or Democrats support his kind of poison is absurd. But this exists. And it's part of what's fueling the anger of the far left. (By the way, Democratic Underground has more traffic than this site, Instapundit, the Nation or the New Republic. It boasts over 30,000 subscribers.)

I highly doubt that they have more traffic than FR.

For sure. Simple test: just follow a DU thread and see how long it lingers on the top page without a bump. Here, a post is buried several pages back in (usually) under a minute. There, a half a dozen replies will keep a thread close to the top all day.

They are growing, however. It used to be, I could post over there in the morning, check back the next day for replies, and find the thread on the second or third page. Now it pays to bookmark.

Bascially, if they lose elections, America isn't really a democracy, and if Americans have to die to advance the Left's agenda, so be it.

Memo Gate.

I read it this morning. That site is infested with traitors, not American democrats.

The hatred and vulgarity there convinces me that it's more a hate site than a site for political commentary. There's little or no reasoned debate, just hate and cursing among the semiliterate members.

58 yr old broad? How old is Barbara Streisend?

It's really Hillary and she is lying about her age this time.

FR reaches a ton more people than DU. Here are links to details about DU's and FR's traffic.

They boast 30,000 subscribers? Hogwash, lies, and bulls**t!

Yeah, but you have to remember that Rats 'subscribe' the same way they 'vote'. :)

Well, 30,000 people have registered, 80% of whom are Freepers, trolling around posting the most outrageous things they can think of before they're banned.

Very much so. I got banned 3 times. I ran out of e-mail addressess. LOL.
I think they count hits, not members. One day I tried to count the names. I got to about 30. Maybe all those 0's are a typo.
Many are still teens. They talk about school, sex, waitng to vote, and having sex with cats.

I think Sullivan is refering to his own blog site, not FR.

I agree with you that it's hateful, but what's scarier is that they don't even realize it. Even well-meaning socialists can rationalize just about any horror by framing it as for the greater good. The only antidote is to look at our fellow humans in units of one.

No. If RATS lose an election it is because the voting equipment was rigged by Bush and his cronies. They honestly believe that there is no way they lost the governors elections last night, nor in California. They firmly believe that the outcome was rigged.

The truth is that we don't actually have very many freepers here. But we do have a lots of rude progressives. Are you one of them?

I have always thought Skinner is pretty level headed. There are a few stable adults at DU (and not all of them are undercover Freepers) with whom one can have a reasonable discussion. Skinner is one of them. He/she must get tired of running an asylum.

I don't spend a lot of time over there, but it's fun to go be contrarian from time to time.:)

www.defendingliberty.com

After my site got mentioned on DU. I was bombarded with insults (wing nut and such)and I had a thread of 62 comments against me running at DU(It made me so proud). I have never seen so many pictures of Che Grevara until I started crusing that site. This article is the least of their worries...I have seen threads that make me sick on that site. Long live Zell Miller.....

I read about the DU thread at LittleGreenFootballs this a.m. and was amused by the host's comment:

I wish I could say that this post was universally decried by other Democratic Underground people. Some did express dismay; some worried that the “freepers” and Andrew Sullivan would link to it. But a disquieting number seem to be either tacitly or openly in synch with this debased opinion. LGF

This leftist screed fits nicely with the leaked memo from the Democrat staffer on the Senate Intelligence Committee. Oh sure, the DU b!tc#'s comments were a little more frank, but the sentiment is identical - undermine the war against terror, allowing soldiers to die, in order to make political gains for the Democrats.
