That was totally uncalled for. Just who the hell are you to insinuate that?? You know nothing of me except that I have posted facts that you don't like to these threads.

But the comment posed was thus: "Never heard of God giving people special powers to do evil."

God never gave powers to Lucifer to do evil; he became evil because of his pride and, thereafter, abused his powers and influence to corrupt not only himself, but other beings.

My comment, which you twisted, had to do with the terrorists believing they have been elected by God to murder...which directly related to the original comment of God giving His powers to others to do evil.

The law justifies Judge Greer's court. This case has been on appeal four times and his opinions have been upheld four times- five if you count the FL Supreme Court rejection.

You are so right in saying that one doesn't know how these patients will respond.

There are the cases of Sunny von Bulow, Gary Dockery (started talking after 7.5 years), Conley Holbrook (made significant improvements after 8 years), Terry Wallis (took him 19 years).

Correction. God gave the angel Lucifer his powers. Lucifer used these powers to do evil. Ergo the powers that God gave Lucifer may have been intended for good purposes, but nonetheless they were also powers that could be used to do evil, as Lucifer has demonstrated.

Are you familiar with General Andrew Jackson -- a favorite of the South, as I understand? The "Trail of Tears"?

Until the Indians fully submit to the white man's law they are and were a present danger in our company. The Indian Wars lasted for well over two hundred years. They have forsworn murder and murderous terror against us, and that has been demonstrated. Fine.

Generals Jackson and Sherman understood that dynamic. That mortal danger. Chief Joseph of the Nez Pierce came to understand. Here are his words:

I am tired of fighting. Our chiefs are killed. Looking Glass is dead. Toohulhulsote is dead. The old men are all dead. It is the young men who say yes or no. He who led the young men is dead.

It is cold and we have no blankets. The little children are freezing to death. My people, some of them, have run away to the hills and have no blankets, no food. No one knows where they are--perhaps freezing to death. I want to have time to look for my children and see how many I can find. Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs. I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever.

Without men like Sherman, like Jackson, men who did things in ways that good people honestly question today, (such as you are doing), we'd have had far more death, terror, misery in aggregate. And NOT for any more moral or spiritual worth either, imo.

Now I think, I reckon after considerations, that Sherman and Jackson did those things that still seem bitter, because their vision, their understanding of the fulsome ramifications of a failure to so act was clearer to them. They had a wiser vision than we do, or even can. In the moment of needed action, the spiritual vision can sometimes be clearer to the commander at that moment, clearer than any later diligent and energetic historian or judicial review panel might make of it.

Actually the period we are talking about here was a very DARK blot on our nation's history and BOTH sides had their participants that were considered villians by the other for pretty much similar reasons. (Sherman and Sharidan as the chief villians for the South and Quantrill and Pike as the chief villians for the North). I guess coming from Commiefornia is what allows me to be more nutral on this subject than traditional Yankees(Northeasterners) or Southerners (one of the few advantages of coming from there). All of this makes me kind of that this current anti Death Culture battle does not yet have to reach the stage of violence like the slavery/tarrif issues of the 1850s/60s did. We should actually thank Yaheveh and his Son Yashua Messiah for sites Like FreeRepublic that allow us to fight this battle non violently.

An affidavit is hearsay. The nurse would have to testify in person (or give a deposition) in order for her testimony to be admissible. The parents could have subpoenaed her.

Thank you Lurking L. This case has really been a learning experience in law for this feeble brain!! Now what I can't understand, is WHY didn't the family supeona her?????

I just read a column in our local liberal paper by Nat Hentoff, honest (I can't believe I said that) liberal, civil libertarian. He wrote about the case, and he spoke of all the revelations coming out about the husband in the court case.

He thinks the husband smells fishy and will have a battle to prove himself worthy of guardianship. You should post a link to his article......a liberal defending the family's position.

BTW...I work early every day....get over it!

GOOD NEWS .... buried deep within this article: House speaker Byrd defends law keeping brain-damaged woman alive
Connor appealed Baird's decision to the 2nd District on Monday, triggering an automatic stay in the case until the issue is settled. A brief from the governor defending the constitutionality of the law was due Monday, but Connor filed the appeal instead.
The 2nd district court of appeals is located in Lakeland Florida, 50 miles east of Clearwater ... I don't recognize any of those judge's names:
Chief Judge Chris W. Altenbernd
Judge Charles A. Davis
Judge Carolyn K. Fulmer
Judge Morris Silberman
Judge James W. Whatley
Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington
Judge Stevan T. Northcutt
Judge Patricia J. Kelly
Judge Darryl C. Casanueva
Judge Charles T. Canady
Judge E.J. Salcines
Judge Craig C. Villanti
Judge Thomas E. Stringer, Sr.
Judge Douglas A. Wallace

Has Terri's case ever been before these judges before?

I would like to mention the case of Patricia White Bull, reported in The Washington Times (Jan. 5, 2000):

"For 16 years, Patricia White Bull was unresponsive to the world -- unable to speak, swallow or move much. On Christmas Eve, she suddenly snapped back to consciousness . . . Doctors cannot explain why Mrs. White Bull, 42, awakened from the catatonic state. . ."

The family had been told that "the vegetative state . . . would last the rest of her life."

DANG IT!
I found the answer to my own question...

Greer has stated in the past:
he was "operating under a mandate from the 2nd District Court of Appeal" and likely wouldn't change his course.

I don't recognize any of the names. I knew Bush wasn't fooling around with these losers. Go Ken Connor!

.

Hey Paul and Louie....need a favor. Can one of you graphics whizzes come up with a spray can with "Troll-B-Gone" on it? We seem to have need of it on these threads.
