Black conservatives oppose gay marriage

Reject parallels with civil rights movement Conservative blacks are objecting to recent comparisons between the gay marriage and civil rights movements, arguing that sexual orientation is a choice.

Lnks between the two struggles have been made since the state's highest court ruled last week that the Massachusetts Constitution guarantees gay couples the right to marry. The Supreme Judicial Court cited landmark laws that struck bans on interracial marriage.

The Democrats don't like when black folk get uppity and start contradicting them. That Democrat plantation got rules, and what the heck, civil rights is like so forty-years-ago anyway. Just shush now.

Blacks aren't allowed any political free choice. If they are conservative, they aren't welcome in the political arena, and if they disagree with the DNC they are not welcome to speak publicly about their ideas.

Yes, unfortunately it is other blacks with their "Uncle Tom" labels who make sure that conservative blacks get no welcome in the political arena. All the more reason to admire and appreciate the guts of Tom Sowell, Colin Powell, Ward Connerly, Coni Rice, and my hero, Dr. Walter Williams. And plenty of others as well.

Regardless, conservative blacks are certainly welcome here at Free Republic.

Why do we keep hearing about how blacks don't like gay marriage? Nobody likes gay marriage. I don't care what polls show. Nobody wants this. Ask some liberal if he wants his son to get married to another man, then you'll hear the truth.

This "debate" is so full of lies that Al Franken should write a book about it.

Blacks are so outraged by being lumped into this debate that it'll probably split off another .0025% of their vote to Republicans.

"Conservative Blacks?" Did they poll all 200 of them in America? Think about this, if we tried we could name enough Conservative Blacks so that the number would equal about 1/4th. In other words Solwell Williams Rice Hamblin , right there you've got 2% or so already. I'm warn out with worrying about what Blacks think. They're Democrats, let them stay Democrats. We'll concentrate on making life better for people who support our efforts. If Blacks are still afraid of crossing the massa, I say leave them alone.

A few months ago, some friends and I were sitting together
talking. One of them, a very liberal girl with a blonde's voice started trying to compare homosexuality to being black. Before I could argue, a black friend of ours broke
in. "Excuse me, are you trying to say I'm like a gay man?"

"There's nothing wrong with being gay."
"There is PLENTY wrong with being gay."
He carried on passionately for about
five more minutes. By the time he was
done, she was silenced.

She was shocked that he had argued with her.

Actually, there are about 2,000,000 conservative blacks in America. That's enough to get anybody's attention... except perhaps Nancy Pelosi's.
