A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Sixteen days 'til Christmas! Where has the time gone? Do you have your tree(s) up yet? We've been seeing the artificial trees in the stores since Halloween, and Christmas Tree lots began appearing before the Thanksgiving Turkey was put away.
The movies and television would have us believe we go pick out our tree on Christmas Eve and go home and decorate it that night! Does anyone really do this? I thought I was late getting ours up just this weekend!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree How are thy leaves so verdant O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree How are thy leaves so verdant
Not only in the summertime But even in winter is thy prime O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree How are thy leaves so verdant
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree Much pleasure doth thou bring me O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree Much pleasure doth thou bring me
For every year the Christmas tree Brings to us all both joy and glee O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree Much pleasure doth thou bring me
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree Thy candles shine out brightly O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree Thy candles shine out brightly
Each bough doth hold its tiny light That makes each toy to sparkle bright O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree Thy candles shine out brightly
Christmas trees come in all shapes and sizes; their beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Some prefer an old-fashioned tree strung with popcorn garlands, multi-colored lights, ornaments handed down from generation to generation. Others might choose a flocked tree with all-one-color decorations; some like a "theme" tree, with all the ornaments carefully related to that theme. Some families make it their annual tradition to pick out the tree and then go home and decorate it together - each member taking turns hanging the cherished ornaments; the grand finale being Daddy putting the star or the angel on top. Let's take a look at a few Christmas trees found on the net, and then maybe you'll want to show a picture of your tree. :)
A Fat Tree
A Skinny White Tree
A Pretty Tree
Where IS the Tree?
A feeling of warmth and comfort....fireplaces, soft lights, candles, mirror reflecting a tree...
Finally, what better way to end than with two of the White House Christmas Trees for this year?
A Finest 16 Days Before Christmas, Ya'll!

Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Good Morning Billie and all!
Love all the Christmas trees you posted and your lovely graphics.
Still no tree yet, this weekend.
One year, I had one of those FAT trees.
LOL...it was huge, went half way into the living room.
Above is a pic of my tree from a couple of years ago.

Cool Pledge this morning, Billie.
Cold wind blowin' in today in the neighborhood. Turning on the Christmas tree lights seems to create a nice warm setting, though.

Oh how pretty! Some of those pictures really gave me a warm feeling!

For humor, my boys hung some halloween decorations on our tree when we decorated this weekend. I really am taken aback how true some stereotypes are. What typical boys!

Hi, Colleen - thanks for posting
your beautiful tree with sweet Lucy in front of it. Do you buy 'real' trees or have you also gone with the artificial ones?
I used to buy real, but for the past several years have put up a beautiful, 'real-looking' one. :) If I only had a closet I could put it away fully decorated! (Don't laugh - my sister-in-law does - it's on rollers, and she just rolls it away! It's gorgeous!)

How beautiful! Also, I *love* the hostess graphic - I have my purple socks and bow on - LOL!
Thank you for the different scenarios depicting trees. We don't put one up because we are home in FL for the holidays each year. I can live vicariously through the ones that you have shown. (Love the "where's the tree?" photo - ROFL!)
We received our *first* ever Christmas Card from the White house this year. .45MAN was tickled because I made such a commotion about it. I was especially impressed that the postmark was Crawford, TX. How very cool! :-)
Love and (((((((HUGS)))))) to all. Hope y'all have a great day!
