APOPKA, Fla. - A 57-year-old Apopka woman spent more than two hours in a 10-foot-deep sinkhole over the weekend after the ground gave way as she was walking her dog, according to Florida Today news partner WKMG Local 6 News.

Like you, as a kid I thought it was great. But, it's hard to watch old movies (even from the 80's) because of being used to the directing/editing/scripting techniques used today.

What a nightmare! Sounds like she was extremely fortunate that it was only 10 feet deep and she was in a place where help would hear here and could get to her! Hope she makes a full recovery. Sounds like "Fido" is going to be "housebroken" shortly.

There was another, later, flick that sounds similar. It was called C.H.U.D. which, IIRC, stood for Canniballistic Human Underground Dwellers. A real hoot. If I had more couth I would say that watching it was a guilty pleasure, but I don't, so to me it was just a hoot.

When I was a kid, I was watching that at the neighbors and my Mom called me home for supper. I was really into it, but Mom was hot, and I never got to see the ending.

FWIW, 29 years later, on the night my girlfriend and I moved in together, it was on again. She was hungry though, and we had to go eat, so I missed it AGAIN!

You can't count on a Cocker (at least the American variety) to do anything but whine, pick up burrs, and pee on the floor if they're frightened or submissive (which is a lot of the time.)

My Labrador runs to me when she hears me cry out. We have trained her to "Go get (family member)", starting by playing hide and seek with her when she was a puppy. I think she could figure out "Go get Daddy!" (She also tattles on the cats when they get on the kitchen counter, but that's purely in her own self interest. They tattle on her too.)
