I'm 5'10 and was 232. I didn't exercise much at all. Once Atkins got me under 210, I began running again, and started lifting weights for the first time since high school. Now I do one or the other every other day. I'm currently 188.

I did the induction seriously for the first week, and lost 6 pounds. I cheated the second week, and lost 1. I started over, and lost 8 pounds the third week, and 5 pounds over the next two weeks. I'm not even sure if I'm cheating now, because Atkins has you gradually raise your carb intake to find a decent maintenance level. I'm eating a peach or apple daily, a candy bar (half of them low-carb), and allow myself a McDonald's sandwich twice per week. I'm right around 350 grams of carbs per week (as opposed to the 250 per meal I could easily do once upon a time... Kraft Mac-n-Cheese and a burger with two black cherry sodas)
