I hate to tell you all this but this is not an easy gall bladder surgery. His pancreatitis and illness makes it high risk with a high mortality. He is not out of the woods.

The gall bladder is a storage area for bile, which the liver makes.

Then it's only a necessary organ for Democrats, eh?

Lib-dems have no functioning brains, and they seem to be doing okay (unfortunately).

My Dad had his removed in the 60s and is a strong 81 and doing just fine. He has a 8" scar across his lower stomach; now they can do it with a 1" incision, or so.

That is probably why they've had him on antibiotics since Friday, right? They are worried about complications.

I'm sure they feel he is stable. Otherwise they would wait for the surgery, I would think.

Remember Reagan's great quip just before the docs operated after he was shot?

Can you live without a gallbladder?

I'll ask my Mom and three of my sisters if they're dead yet.

Anybody know what the recovery time for something will be for this kind of illness/operation? Even if (Lord willing) he pulls through the surgery, will he at his age have to take it easy and perhaps retire as AG?
