John Ashcroft is about to undergo surgery to have his gallbladder removed.

Yes, absolutely. My dad had his removed several years ago b/c of nasty stones. He's doing just fine.

Are they going to be able to do it laparascopically? if so, hopefully it shouldn't be too bad. He'll be a lot more comfortable with it gone.

Which gallbladder surgery are they performing? The standard, the laparoscopy (sp?), or the ERCP?
