Kerry National Headquarters Sics Cops on Freepers, Kristinn to Be On Fox News - On Now
D.C. Chapter of FR ^ | 4/17/04 | L_von_Mises

Posted on 04/17/2004 12:03:06 PM PDT by L_Von_Mises

The DC Chapter of Free Republic set up a Viet-Cong Vets for Kerry bake sale in front of Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry's national headquarters in Washington DC this afternoon. The Kerry campaign responded by calling the D.C. police to shut down the bake sale.

When the D.C. police arrived they ordered the DC Chapter to shut down the protest in 15 minutes or they would ticket them for occupying a public space without a permit. At that point the police would then disperse them themselves.

Due to the short notice, and the fact that it would be a small group, the DC Chapter did not apply for a permit.

Kristinn is scheduled to appear on Fox News this afternoon for an in-studio interview. The interview should air sometime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm today. As more details become available, they will posted here.

Kudos to those that attended. The honor roll is Kristinn, Angelwood, TGSLTakoma, TBP, Trueblackman, and Staytrue.

Here is the link to the original announcement about the bake sale

Your're right. That's the number we heard back on 9/27/01 when the cops made us cross the street.

I just spoke to Kristinn and Fox has decided that they would not be conducting the interview because they will be focusing on recent developments is Israel. I hope that some other news service picks up the DC Chapter/Kerry HQ story. Let a few more people know what a man of the people Kerry is.

Now if this were DU there would be nothing but posts with obscenities and conspiracy theories that Kerry was behind the killing of Rantisi to divert attention from the anti-Kerry protesters.

Yes it was agreat idea...Viet Cong Vets for Kerry...LOL!

I also like the flip-flop ideas. FReepers should show up at every future Kerry venue clapping their cheap sandals in his face.

Go, FReepers! Never out of ideas, like the ditzy opponents, whose only response is to call the police like the snitches and cowards they are. And their morally bankrupt candidate, too!

Raoul and I, meanwhile, protested a Moveon bake sale on the Lower East Side. I held a "Kerry's Waffle House" sign and Raoul dressed as Saddam and held a sign instructing people to vote Democrat to save him. He had another sign identifying himself as one of the foreign leaders who supported Kerry.

Al Franken came over and tried to engage the good doctor in Democrats.com talking points, but all the cartoon Saddam would say was "I want a Gorelick muffin GRILLED, not HALF-BAKED." A crowd had gathered around, and as Franken walked away frustrated, Raoul informed him that his Air American audience had just tripled.

People were eating these disguting-looking cupcakes with gobs of icing that they paid $3 for--as Saddam explained to them that "These are Kerry muffins: The muffins are free; the three dollars is tax."

Hope we get to hear Kristinn on FOXnews!

If this is the case then, sale or no sale, it is a job well done just by bringing Kerry's slanted freedom of speech attitude to national attention!

We do!

I just got back home and am having some ice cream (I rewarded myself); then I'll get to work uploading the pix.

P.S. I am making my daughter have some ice cream, too. (Really though, we had to make room in the freezer for the Bake Sale stuff... for the next time we do this. We're a frugal chapter.)

It was a great try without a permit. Of course, you complied with the authorities upholding the reputation of the DC Chapter.

There will be another day(s). Good idea that should be followed-up on.
