A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Please join me as we salute Group 13 of a Few of FR's Finest Military. Some are serving now, some are veterans, some are no longer with us, but all are deserving of our thanks and appreciation.
TOP: Repubmommy's brother, Rose in RoseBear's cousin's husband, BoxerBlue's son Chris, BoxerBlue's son Brent. BOTTOM: Rose in RoseBear's uncle, Deadhead's stepdad, Dansy's dad, Misty's brother.
Repubmommy's brother is serving in the US Army, presently on American soil and he is stationed out of Ft Huachuca until early summer. He will be leaving for Ft Benning afterward and will be assigned to the 3rd Infantry. We are expecting a deployment some time in November.
Rose inRoseBear sent us two photos to include in our Military Monday group. The first is a picture of her first cousin's husband. Thank you, Rose, for allowing us to include your relatives in our Veterans' groups.
BoxerBlue's oldest son, Brent, is with the 101st in Iraq. Her younger son, Chris, is currently in Camp Hovey, South Korea.
Rose in RoseBear's uncle in 1942. He served in World War II.
Deadhead's stepdad Fred, when he was in the Army/AirForce. Fred is now 81 and living the good life in Florida.
Dansangel's dad served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Mistyca's brother, Jim, served in Vietnam. Jim passed away in September of last year. He was 54.
Today we salute you, we appreciate you, and we thank you - you are a Few More of FR's Finest! On Monday, your group will be added to our regular Military Monday tributes. Thank you for serving!

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Lost In The Fog
Read: Proverbs 3:1-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 9-11; Luke 15:11-32
The fog was as thick as pea soup. Visibility was limited to a few feet, and the lake was as smooth as glass. The only sound to break the silence was the laughing of a loon across the lake.
I rowed for an hour around the shore, trying to catch fish in different areas, but the fish weren't biting! So I decided to go back to my cabin for a cup of coffee. I was at the mouth of a small inlet, which I knew was directly across the lake from the cottage. So I set out across the lake on a straight course (I thought) toward the dock.
The minutes went byand after an hour I was surprised when I arrived back at the mouth of the little stream from which I started. I had been going in a circle in the fog. I was so sure I knew where I was going, but after an hour I had gotten nowhere! If I had only taken my compassinstead of relying on my own sense of direction.
Proverbs 3:5 comes to mind: "Lean not on your own understanding." Without the Lord as your guide through the fog of life, and His Word as your compass, you will wander aimlessly.
So be sure to make Proverbs 3:6 your lifelong motto: "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." M. R. De Haan, M.D.
My Lord is ever with me
Along life's busy way;
I'll trust in Him completely
For guidance day by day. Anon.
To avoid going wrong, follow God's leading.

To avoid going wrong, follow God's leading. A reminder we need every day, many times a day.
Rus, I'll send you via regular email the html text to replace your Military Monday, to include this last photo. Thanks for being the one we rely on to honor these men and women every week.

Okie Dokie
I should have been gone a while ago, It appears that it is virtually impossible to get near the Presidents route.
As I type Pres Bush has landed, now I know where he is. If I had known he would be at the FedEx office I would have been there. I know everyone at that office.. I remodeled it.

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
Here's something I posted on the DOSE thread last night (with some alterations)
I have something to say and I'm posting it here but I'll be saving it to post on tomorrow's FR's Finest Thread as I know a lot of folks over there are already gone offline by now and won't be able to read it.
Sooooo.......!
Taking a deep breath! here I go!
I really like to say this on "Sanity Island"
Everyone here knows how I feel about President Bush, I've made it no secret how much I love and support him. and living and working with (and for) people who do not hold these same feelings (they hate and fear him) It really hurts to hear constantly, day after day how wrong, stupid, arrogant and inept they percieve him to be. He is a failure to some and the devil to others.
I am sick and tired of every time I turn on the TV or the Radio I hear about another "tell all" book or that someone else is calling for President Bush's inmpeachment or hear how people in other countries are telling us how we should vote and who we should be voting for as our leader. <> I mean, The last time I checked, George W. Bush is the President of the United States of America, not France or Germany or Russia or Australia or any other country so why to they feel they have a say in our selection of who is going to lead OUR country?
And now I read were this internet group is calling not only for Bush's assasination, they are also calling for the murders of Colin Powell, VP Cheney, Condi; Rummy and Ashcroft as well as the deaths of our troops.
When is this all going to stop?
This is why I come to FR and why I don't like to go onto certian threads that all they do is bash Bush, if I want to hear Bush bashing I'll listen to my coworkers and some of the people that live in my building!
I like coming to the DOSE and to FR's Finest because there are people on this thread who understand how I feel because they feel the same way about Dubya.
I admire his humility, (he's in not way arrogant IMO) his strength and courage. I admire the way that he turned his life around and continued on, leaving the past behind and forging ahead. I admire his love for his country and for his family even though some of the risks he's taking gets me scared for his safety but I know he is well protected both physically by the Secret Service and spiritually by God.
I may not know a lot about how to judge character and the science of politics but I do know what I see in President Bush and what I see I like.
Some time ago Sauropod asked me what would President Bush have to do to get me to stop supporting him. The answer, he would have to commit a most horrendous crime such as murder. That is what would get me to stop supporting him.
I' not very articulate (so I sypathize with GWB about that!) and I can't fully describe what I'm trying to say like a lot who post on this and other threads. so I'll say it in simple terms. As a Christian, I see President Bush as a "brother" in Christ. So I can say to him with confidence, Mr. President, I love you, Brother!
And I'll keep praying hard for God to bless and protect him from all harm physically;spiritually, and politically. and may his enemies be few and his friends be many!
And I pray most fervently for his re-election.
That's the end of my rant.
