Hillary's Secret War
The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle
Internet Journalists

by Richard Poe

Foreword by Jim Robinson
Founder of FreeRepublic.com

"Hillary Clinton is one of the most important political players in the last decade, and she's been nothing but trouble. Hillary's Secret War by Richard Poe is required reading."

ANN COULTER
Bestselling author of Treason, Slander and High Crimes and Misdemeanors

"Hillary's Secret War chronicles the lonely battle many of us waged to expose Clinton corruption. As one who took part in that struggle, I am impressed by the accuracy and insight of Richard Poe's account. He has brought to life a shameful chapter of American history that Big Media tried to bury."

CHRISTOPHER RUDDY
Founder and Editor of NewsMax.com

"Hillary's Secret War is not just an indictment of a woman now sitting in the U.S. Senate. It is an exposé of an authoritarian mindset that longs to regain power, and will stop at nothing to achieve its objective."

From the Preface
by JOSEPH FARAH
Founder and Editor of WorldNetDaily.com

"Hillary's Secret War by Richard Poe is the first book I've read that really pulls together the story of the Internet underground during the Clinton years. This story has never been told before. The secret war is still going on. Hillary knows she can't get back in the White House unless she shuts us down first. We know the storm is coming, and we're getting ready for it."

From the Foreword
by JIM ROBINSON

ON FEBRUARY 11, 1998, Hillary Clinton told reporters that the Internet needed an "editing" or "gatekeeping" function. The World Wide Web was out of control, she said. It needed to be reined in. Hillary neglected to mention at the press conference that she had already been waging a secret war to silence Internet dissidents for the last four years.

From her own War Room in the White House, Hillary commanded a secret police operation dedicated to suppressing evidence of Clinton crimes. "Hillary is not merely an aider and abettor to this secret police operation. She has been its prime instigator and organizer," wrote the late Barbara Olson in her 1999 book Hell to Pay. Mrs. Olson was in a position to know. A former federal prosecutor, she served as Chief Investigative Counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, which probed Hillary's role in the Travelgate and Filegate scandals in 1995 and 1996.

Hillary's operatives silenced witnesses; neutralized federal investigations; blackmailed Senators and Congressmen and intimidated journalists. They looked upon the "unregulated" datastream of cyberspace as a threat to their power, potentially devastating in its ability to bypass the controlled, corporate media. For that reason, Hillary's secret police persecuted Internet dissidents with special ferocity.

Hillary's Secret War tells the story of a group of rebel journalists on the Web who defied an outlaw White House; endured government repression; exposed unspeakable treason at the pinnacle of power and helped change the course of the 2000 election. Their tale has never before been told.

The Battle Ahead

As we approach the presidential election of 2004, the New Underground -- the growing network of dissident journalists on cable TV, talk radio and the Internet -- has grown ever more crucial to the battle for America's soul.

When the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the McCain-Feingold Act on December 10, 2003, the court awarded Big Media corporations what amounts to a government-enforced monopoly over political speech 60 days before any general election. No independent group may air political ads over radio or television during those 60 days. Big Media corporations, on the other hand, may speak freely and promote whatever candidates they wish on their news and talk shows right up to the day of the election.

The Supreme Court thus bestowed enormous political power on major media and on the multibillion-dollar transnational corporations that own them. Nevertheless, the Internet remains free -- at least for the time being. In the months and years ahead, the World Wide Web will be a hard-fought battleground on which America's future will, in large measure, be determined.

Hillary's Secret War tells the story of the flagship Web sites of the New Underground, such as DrudgeReport.com; NewsMax.com; WorldNetDaily.com and FreeRepublic.com, and of the cyberjournalists who built them. Learn how these modern-day Tom Paines and Ben Franklins mastered a new technology, the Internet; how they built a New Media from the ground floor; and how these cyber-patriots continue today to challenge the power of Big Media in the age of the blogosphere.

Here is the inside story of the Web sites and cyberjournalists who helped change history, a tale of courage, sacrifice, ingenuity and patriotism ñ one of the greatest untold stories in the annals of journalism.

Sounds like a great book- I cant wait to read it.

But maybe you can help convince Jim Robinson he needs a NEW BUSINESS MODEL for this site- the quarterly fund raisers are too little and this site has the power to raise millions through other sources.

Look at the bucks a dumb site like Salon.com raked in. There must be Republican equivalent businesses willing to do the same for FR.

When the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the McCain-Feingold Act on December 10, 2003, the court awarded Big Media corporations what amounts to a government-enforced monopoly over political speech 60 days before any general election.

And who signed the bill into law in the first place? George W. Bush. I guess the "compassionate" component of compassionate conservatism boils down to relying on Congress to kill the Assault Weapons Ban and the Supreme Court to strike down campaign finance reform. Except they didn't.

It would be nice if GWB actually grew a pair and vetoed this bill in the first place. Then the country wouldn't have a precedent-setting piece of legislation that states that you, the American citizen, can't talk about certain things at certain times. Only now it's the law of the land.

Sometimes leaders have to actually stand up and lead, instead of hiding behind Congress and SCOTUS and sucking up to Vicente Fox at every possible opportunity.
