He is living in Saudi Arabia. He is seeking $350,000 from the government through the U.S. Army Claims Service for "torture and other personal injuries" while at Camp Bucca.

Shaltout said he is an aerospace engineer and an exporter for an American company that distributes global positioning equipment. He said he is at least able to afford psychological treatment as compared to other prisoners freed from camps in Iraq.

"Their lives will be destroyed," he said.

Attorney Thomas Nelson of Portland, Ore., filed the claim. It said Shaltout entered Iraq in January 2003 as a member of a peace organization called Rights and Freedom International. The organization tried to convince Iraqi leaders to step down to avoid war with the United States, the claim said.

Shaltout described himself as a "peacemaker" and said Camp Bucca soldiers wanted him to admit to being Saddam Hussein's "right hand man," but he refused to confess during daily interrogations.

"They wanted confessions," he said. "A lot of people didn't have anything to confess."

According to the claim:

Shaltout was outside his hotel room in Baghdad on April 9, 2003, when Marines detained him. He was placed in an armored personnel carrier and prevented from returning to his hotel room to retrieve $118,700 in hidden cash and other items.

I think that the Ft Lewis compound and the surrounding mosques need to be investigated re the Muslim Chaplins at Ft Lewis for the past 2 decades. Then the nearby Muslims in the mosque/mosque in the area around Ft Lewis need to be investigated. Something bad is going on there.

Re the Washington/Oregon area and Islamofascists. Imagine a couple of infections on your body and you decide not to have them treated because Germs are nice. If they don't kill you, they will probably develop into pus pockets where the germs stay and thrive. Now, the only way to get rid of those pus pockets is lance them, drain them of the germs and their poison and use potent antibiotics to kill any germs left over.

Whenever the mediots and the rats in the Senate go ballistic on something like the prisoner abuse which has been around since 17 January, I wonder what stories are they trying to obscure.

It appears that NewsWeak and the LA Slimes got a heads up from the New Spanish Government on this story weeks. So the rest of the mediot pack went ballistic on the prisoner abuse and this story was released prematurely to prevent the FBI from doing more monitoring and exposing.

If this guy and his wife are linked to the Madrid explosion and the time line is interesting, the new government in Spain could have some severe credibility problems.

I remember reading about some of the bombers owning a cell-phone shop & this being the source of the phones used. Did they send the phones to Portland to be rigged as triggers? Are there records of international shipments?

Possibly some muslim from Spain carried the phones to Portland in his baggage, Mayfield rigged them, and the guy took them back with him. Seems like a long, hard way to get something done when local "talent" was probably available, but anything is possible.

Remember, the Palestinians are constantly using cell phones as triggers in Israel. Any terrorist cell who can't find someone local to rig a cell phone this way is not looking very hard.

Mayfield met Mona on a blind date. I'm trying to imagine someone introducing a Muslim to a Christian, particularly in an area which is loaded with Muslims.

All of their friends and relatives claim how wonderful they are

People make the inference that because someone is nice, wonderful, loves their dog Etc. that they cannot be terrorists. Wrong, if anything, smart terrorists would build this "persona" as a cover. But joining a mosque that preaches against Israel, rants about US foreign policy, and provides a quiet place for members to "vent their disgust" over the goings on in the Middle East gives these "model citizens" a chance to maintain their level of anger. And continue the concept that their mission is sent from Allah.

It has been mentioned before that this is a so called sancturary city, set up by liberals for illegals to have free access to our services without hinderance by the law enforcement agencies. It stands to reason that these will be the homes of the most dangerous cells.
