May 13, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - Shocking shots of sexcapades involving Pfc. Lynndie England were among the hundreds of X-rated photos and videos from the Abu Ghraib prison scandal shown to lawmakers in a top-secret Capitol conference room yesterday.

"She was having sex with numerous partners. It appeared to be consensual," said a lawmaker who saw the photos.

...Flynt....

This is all just a little bit too wierd. I'm beginning to wonder if this MIGHT be a Larry Flynt set-up.

Perhaps we maybe missing a larger deeper issue here. This is no doubt some of the ramifications of Clinton era military policies. I strongly believe that the female general over these soldiers an her non mea culpa is telling. This also plays in to the furor over Jessica Lynch not being the poster child for the feminazis either. This is what you get when you use the military as a social experiment. I can recall a few years ago the hazing of Marines on the Silent Drill Team that was far worse than what happened at that Iraqi prison. 1 Marine's testicles were ruptured from a wedgie and another had heel sole and edge dressing placed in his genital area. The Marines dealt with this swiftly and meted out punishment to all involved.

Now it seems that PFC England was trying to do what has become pervasive in our liberal communities, produce a Paris Hilton or Pam and Tommy Lee video. I am already hearing the cries of I am a victim. She was a soldier and if she had any moral compunction she would not be in this mess. Don't give me that she was a PFC crap either because I have seen junior troops cry to holy heaven for something that is beneficial to their welfare or when they miss their pay they are not afraid to speak out then.

" just wait for Michael Moore's next movie."

Har! The opening scenes will show England living a chaste life, taking nun's vows and going to Iraq to serve humanity.

"Almost everybody was naked all the time," another lawmaker said.

Interesting. Does anybody think that perhaps most of these "prisoners" with bags over their heads were actually our soldiers?

But of course that doesn't matter. /sarcasm

This entire group sullied the reputation of hundreds of thousands of other young people, who are working their hearts out to fulfill their roles in the honorable tradition.

I think it would be poetic justice to allow those awesome kids the ability to exercise peer review and determination of consequences...

I don't see her getting any hard time. I predict a BCD and reduction to pvt. E-1. The only way she would get harsher treatment is if it was proven her actions was to intentionaly discredit the USA. That the pics was taken to intentionaly so they would be exposed for the sole purpose to harm the war effort. No hard time here.

Gosh I hate to disagree with someone with such good taste in nicks : ) but...

I agree that it started with the "Rosie the Riveter" phenom, but it was just taken way too far when they started militantly pushing for "equal rights" in the 60's. And I'd say Playboy was just part of the whole cause and effect package of that.

"Women being in control of men is just unnatural and maladaptive"

I've said something similar about certain men in controlling situations. Of course, this is completely different... BTW, I sure had some mean female principals and at least 1 teacher in elementary school...they had absolutely no business being in the education business.

"Women being in control of men is just unnatural and maladaptive IMHO. It degrades men, even if everyone tries to repress their natural instincts that revolt."

Well, then I guess I've been maladaptive for the past 23 years having worked as an officer and Sergeant in New York State prisons.

Not to pat myself on the back, but the male officers I worked with told me they would rather work with me than most of the other male supervisors because they knew I'd back them up, wouldn't cater to the cons, and was willing to jump in when the fur was flying. I'm retired now, but it was very satisfying to hear from my fellow officers just how much I was going to be missed.

If men feel degraded by being supervised by a woman, then they apparently have a problem with their own masculinity. Women supervise men in all walks of life, not just in the military or law enforcement.

And as far as inmates go, most of them disrespected their wives, mothers, girlfriends, & daughters by getting themselves thrown in jail. The majority of them never cherished what family they had on the street, buth once they're incarcerated, they become very family oriented. It has nothing to do with missing their loved ones. It has everything to do with what goodies those loved ones can bring them or send them while they are behind bars. I've listened to their phone calls, and been in the visiting rooms when their mothers come to visit. In most cases, it isn't "Hi Mom, how are you?"...it's "Hi, what did you bring me?"

Most of the visitors to prisons are women. The majority of the prisoners doing time are from the NY City area. The prison system runs a free bus program for inmate families. These wives, mothers, and girlfriends get on a bus at midnight on a Friday night to arrive at a prison on a Saturday morning so they can spend a few hours with the son, husband or boyfriend who didn't care enough about them to stay out of trouble in the first place. It always amazed me how much these women would inconvenience themselves just to visit these ingrates week after week.

Whatever degradation male inmates feel at being controlled by women is self inflicted. If they don't like having woman tell them what to do, then they shouldn't come to prison.

They walked into a recruiting station, took an ASVAB and signed the papers. That's how.
