Winding up a visit from my wacko Liberal older Brother this weekend, and boy, does he have an incredible NEW alert from Liberal radio.
It seems that our President has made it LAW that ALL Vietnam Vets, even up to age 65, are now eligible to be drafted back into the military to be sent to the Middle East. Yes yes.......the last time I saw him it was the children, male and female, who were about to be "drafted" even though his girl is 32 and his boy is 25, and partially handicapped. Yes, sez he, Bush is going to draft them both. Now the age has been expanded to men and women UP TO age 65. Since big Bro is 62, he has a real reason to worry about this (he thinks).
I told him he needs to find a new radio station. He swears that EVERYBODY knows this, and it's ALL OVER THE NEWS, an assertion which I find amusing, since my radio runs for easily 12 hours a day.
So be afraid, be very afraid. We're ALL gonna be drafted, up to age 65, of course. Manditory service, front lines in Iraq, cannon fodder. That's the ONLY way to win the war, according to Big Bro and his NPR latenight stations.
I actually think there might be some adult beverages involved here.

Unfortunately, people like these still have the right to vote.

Me I await with anticipation, of course, everybody can be ordered in at anytime by a simple declaration of martial law, a suspension of habeas corpus, etc.

THis is what happens when a liberal, who knows nothing about the military and detests the military with all their might, hears the fact that YES, the government can call anyone into service at anytime. Always could.
The reality is, they don't really want someone who doesn't want to serve. There are enough TRUE PATRIOTS out here to waste time on cowards like him.
If they want me, they are really scrapeing the bottom of the barrel. I suppose a trim GI could use me to hide behind. lol
Your brother forgot to add that Bush implemented this policy so as to draft John Kerry prior to the convention so the democrats will have to nominate Hillary.
They have a vast array of conspiracies, and swallow them all hook, line and sinker! The proof is that the beleive the drivel that comes from the mouths of their leaders: Kenneday, sHrillary, Dashole, Pelosi, and of course, Hanoi John sKerry!

dts32041 has the correct response! When your brother tells you the government is going to draft everyone, say with a straight face, "Excellent! Now EVERYONE can serve! No more ageism - now even a handicapped child can go to Iraq and blow up ragheads! This is great! I've always wanted to learn to use assault weapons!"

When my brother comes up with such rants ("The Chinese are controlling our weather!") I no longer try to stop laughing. I do, however, consider trying to slip prozac into his coffee... :-)

I know how hard it is to deal with libs when they're also relatives. I have a couple of my own, both living in the SF Bay area. I think there's something in the water there...
Also, tell him that the NYT and Wash Compost is best used as birdcage liner.
He will return to sanity after those actions, IMO.
I'd enlist but the government says I'm too old. Anyone know how I can get on board with one of our civilian contractors over there? Hell, I can drive H1s and do support work or whatever's necessary.
