Distaso focuses on Laci's clothes

Defense questions accuracy of Modesto Police reports

By Jason Dearen, STAFF WRITER

REDWOOD CITY -- While prosecutors focused Thursday on "Mary Jane" shoes and the color of pants Laci Peterson wore on the day before her murder, the alleged killer's defense attorneys launched their assault on the Modesto Police Department's murder investigation. On the first full day of testimony in the double-murder trial, prosecutor Rick Distaso called six witnesses who either saw or had information about Laci's actions on the last day she was seen alive.

Witnesses testified that, on the day before her disappearance, Laci did some grocery shopping for Christmas dinner

at Trader Joe's, got a facial waxing at a day spa, and accompanied husband Scott Peterson to get his hair cut. .....

Geragos deconstructs prosecution's case against Peterson

Defense attorney: Fetus was born full-term therefore defendant's not responsible for murders

By Jason Dearen, STAFF WRITER

REDWOOD CITY -- Scott Peterson is a cad not a killer, his defense attorney said Wednesday as he began an assault on the very essence of the evidence against Peterson -- when his wife and child died.

In the scenario cast by attorney Mark Geragos, the child was born alive weeks after Christmas Eve 2002, the date prosecutors say his mother, Laci Peterson, had been killed.

"If this baby was born alive, clearly Scott Peterson had nothing to do with this murder," Geragos explained to the six men and six women of the jury. .......

Witness testifies that Laci was a 'rare pregnant woman'"

“She was a rare pregnant woman,” said Michelle Buer, whom Peterson saw regularly for day-spa treatments. “She was very happy through her whole pregnancy.”

Testimony from Buer and three others this morning sketched a picture of Laci Peterson going about holiday business and mildly pampering herself Dec. 23, 2002 - the day before she was reported missing, sparking a massive search........

REDWOOD CITY -- A maternity blouse similar to the one Laci Peterson was wearing hours before prosecutors believe she was murdered was found wadded up in a dresser drawer at her home, Peterson's sister testified Thursday.

But prosecutors failed to lay out the significance of that for jurors in a disjointed first full day of testimony that showcased "missed opportunities," one legal observer said. ......

Feb. 16: Laci Peterson: A Fateful 24 Hours

MODESTO, Calif. -- By all accounts, the Christmas holiday season was one of Laci Peterson's favorite times of the year. She enjoyed creating special desserts and had even taken cooking classes in France.

Her skills had earned her the nickname of 'cake lady' from several of those closest to her. Family and friends waited in anticipation to see what she would whip up for holiday gatherings........

Yes Liz, you are absolutely correct!! He DID do laundry when he came home and found his wife missing...some of the family members were surprised he used the word "missing" so early in that game of his...why not ask around before he deduced she was missing.
But all in all...there goes the argument that he may have been too concerned or too busy in the two months to do laundry...
And again..he did go golfing quite often.

I just heard Ambrams say at the end of his show that during one of his commercial breaks yesterday that one of Snott's family members rushed his set to correct one of his guest who said that Snott was still sleeping with Amber after Laci went missing....he did not name the person, but what's the difference?? He was still pursuing the love affair and promising her a future!!! That's STILL CHEATING!!! THAT'S STILL INFIDELITY!!!
Also, one of his e-mails pointed out something we commented here...Female jurors who have had children will find it hard to believe that Laci, being 8 months pregnant might find it hard enough limbing into a car, much less a boat that is up on a trailer in a warehouse!!!

and for the blouse to go from the hamper to wadded up and stuffed in a drawer is strange to me.

There is no conceivable normal reason for a blouse to come out of a dirty hamper and end up wadded in a drawer. There is simply no way that Laci did that.

If she had thought that her blouse was actually not that dirty adn she wanted to wear it again tomorrow, wouldn't she have either hung it up carefully or folded it NEATLY in the drawer?

It was definitely Scott. I bet he didn't know whether it had been seen in the hamper or not (since he isn't too bright about any of this stuff already), so thought to himself "Well, I can't throw it in the TRASH; that would be suspicious. If I stuff it into the drawer, they will all think Laci put it there."

He says during this fishing trip that he had -- he had taken no food with him and nothing to drink the entire day. He said other than the fact that he got up, he had a bowl of cereal, he hadn't eaten or drank anything the entire day on his -- on his fishing -- he didn't stop for food or anything like that. He says when he gets home he's hungry, he opens up some cold pizza from the night before, and he takes a bite of pizza. He says he takes off the clothes, only the clothes that he wore fishing that day. Takes off those clothes, goes to his washer, takes dirty rags and stuff in the washer out, and he puts those aside and washes only the clothes that he wore fishing. And Detective Brocchini asked him about that, you, know, Why did you wash just your clothes. He says Well, my clothes were wet, so I washed them. He says then he takes a pizza, gets in the shower, takes a shower, and then by this time is when he starts calling Sharon Rocha.

Oh I just got it Jackie. You don't need to explain. Sheesh. I will tell you that this thing with Cement IS important. The Police DID retrieve TWO of the anchors. Now think of (Part chemical and part circumstantial)!! That cement mixture can absolutely be analyzed chemically, each and every ingredient. And the circumstances of where they retrieved them are coming to. These THINGS I am referring to are going to be TESTIFIED to. ALSO, Distaso is coming back to the pants. He has an expert to testify regarding the cut, the fabric, the hem, EVERYTHING you can think of. There really IS more to come guys. There was absolutely NO mix up in regard to the clothing yesterday. Distaso apparently said, "I'll be coming back to that later"!!

Well we know Laci didn't do that...it happened between Dec. 24 and Feb...she was "missing" (she was murdered) So who does that leave? The only people in that house were the Peterson's...(Snott's family would not allow the Rocha's access) So do you think Jackie decided to do some laundry and opted not to launder Laci's cloths...instead wad them up and put them in a drawer? NOOO, she loved Laci like a daughter, Laci called her "Mom." I doubt that Janey would have done that either... So that leaves us with Snott...who was such a neat-nick that he threw his clothes in the washer as soon as he hit the door...while he was frantic about his "missing" wife....
