Um......I fail to see where somebody is being killed by a mob in the logo.
If you could just clear that up, that would be greaaat.
Thanks.

As for hogging resources, Firefox seems fine to me.
I usually just use IE, but for some reason I lost my Java when I installed one of those internet security updates from Microsoft and installing the program did diddly squat to help.
So, I have to go to Mozilla every time I want to run a java loop or something.

By the way, your title is a grammatical train wreck. You no doubt meant to say "Communist Software (which you might already have)."
The word 'may' is an indication of permission, while the word 'might' expresses a sense of possibility.

As I understand it, the entire logo & "red theme" is a tongue in cheek jab at those who call open source software communist. Considering that the Mozilla Project was started by Netscape, which is a division of the very capitalistic AOL/Time Warner, I seriously doubt that it's "communist software".

haha! That's one of my favorite pictures! Puts the cool-aid drinkers in perspective IMO.

Seems also to act as effective bait for catching simple-minded tinfoil hat wearers too.

What's more insidious is that that development model that mozilla is based on comes from the operating system linux.
Free republic runs on linux.
Which means we are all using communist software without knowing it!!!

I've written to the Mozilla Foundation's press contact, as a writer (yes, I really am), and queried them about the meaning behind the logo. Will come back here and post what I find out.

I read on their website when I got the v7.1 CDs, that this was the last browser they'd be making. No upgrades or further versions. Sorry to see that happen.

and i use BSD. your point being? heck i have a few projects on sourceforge. There is nothing wrong with giving stuff away for free. However, imagine if the logo was a nazi swastika , wouldnt be so harmless now would it?
