My Dear Save,

Goode Company is good, but not even the best in the area.

Try the place with the pink pig sign on the east side of Voss near San Felipe. The Swinging Door north of Richmond (Texas not the street) is great though late at night their ribs get a bit tough. For ribs try the place in old Sugar Land on HWY. 90. South side and I think the only sign says Bar-B-Que.

LOL - I'll vote for a Backyard BBQ any ol' day as long as the recipe comes from the South.

No offense to the Northerners. The south just has more spice. :o)

Anyone with entries in a state other than NC don't friggin' know what they're talkin 'bout. BBQ's so serious here you can always catch "The History of BBQ" (90 minutes) on PBS every other week.

We just had this very argument last night in Burlington!

NC people, get over here and defend our state!

In 1969, we moved from suburban New Jersey to Mobile, Alabama.

On the way south, we stopped in Spartanburg, SC to visit friends. They said we were having barbecue for dinner. I expected them to fire up the grille and cook something.

Instead, we hopped in the car and went to - to this day I cannot remember the name of the place - and bought soft hamburger buns and containers of... barbecue?

It was unforgettable!

Oh. My favorite? Well, the one I can remember is Jimbos in Lakeland, Florida.

I get the impression that you haven't been to Peoria in years. Is this true?

A lot has changed, especially downtown.

I am getting close to heading there to visit family and will probably be hitting a couple of the old haunts to get some good food, Central Illinois style.

Jack's Stack in Kansas City. Burnt ends. Barbecued Prime Rib Ribs, fries, coleslaw, beans, cheesy corn. And ice cold draft unfiltered wheat beer. It just don't get any better than that.

"New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Huntsville Texas. All proceeds go to support the church."

This is only a few miles from my house.
It is good.
Are you from Huntsville?
If not how did you find this great place.

I'm a NC BBQ fan. But I confess to sneaking over the southern border to Maurice's BBQ in Columbia. MMMMMM.

Red, Hot & Blue.

Started by a Republican activist, the late Lee Atwater..

Stay away from their vineger sauce. It is the worst I have ever tasted. The other sauces are fine.

Freeagle--

You don't have to be satisfied with Carsons in Chicago! Try the Twin Anchor on the Near North Side or Robinsons on the South side. Many years ago when Mike Royko had a barbeque cookoff in Grant Park, Mr. Robinson won. His ribs are still great!

Dr. Hogely Wogely in Van Nuys.

Even try to get a Super Bowl order there? Order 2 days in advance and show up 2 hours early.

It's 2 miles from me! :)
