This is all so macabre ... a little bit of gallows humor stuck out to me when I read this, describing Kerry as a young lieutenant:

I heard O'Reilly today talking about having Steve Gardner on tonight. It was very obvious O'Reilly already has his mind made up, and doesn't see any proof the Swiftboat Vets are right. He said, "All the proof is on Kerry's side."

On tonight's O'Reilly, the ratfink said, "Who cares if Kerry lied about Cambodia? He was against the war!" He pretty much left that thought right there, without elaborating. Well, how about this, Mr. O'Reilly? This man wants to be President of the United States, and you admit that he lied about being in Cambodia because he was against the war effort? In other words, he wanted to use that to hurt the war effort, right? You still think that's no big deal?

No, I'm not buying this. Certainly there is more polarization than before but there are still plenty of folks who are not that mad at Bush, who normally tow the Democratic party line, but who would be swayed by info like this if they actually received it. Fewer than in other elections, perhaps, but still, there are some.
